You're welcome!

Last night I watched "Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)" and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. It actually has actors that are good. But it's still a bloody chainsaw massacre movie.

It's 50 years after the Leatherface and his family terrorized people who came to their Texas town. A group of young people buy up an old deserted Texas town to auction off the old properties, but someone seems to still be living in one of the old buildings.

I really enjoyed this one....

The Seance (2021)

A YouTube-famous paranormal debunker attends an infamous medium's seance in an effort to expose his charlatan ways. During the evening she discovers this haunted house's occupants will do whatever it takes to avoid the limelight.

If you are a Foo Fighters fan or just a Dave Grohl fan, you'll love this movie! I thought it was hilarious.

Studio 666 (2022)

Dave and the band rent a mansion with a "grisly rock and roll history" to make their 10th album. Of course all hell breaks loose. There's LOTS of cameos.

I really enjoyed this Irish horror movie.

You are Not My Mother (2021)

A sweet and bullied high school girl lives with her Grandma and depressed and pretty much non-functioning mother. One day her mom disappears, and when she returns she acts like a different person. The girl searches for answers as to why her mom is different.

I normally don't like comedy/horror movies, but this one was fun.

Tales from the Lodge (2019)

It's about a group of 40ish English friends who meet at a lodge to sprinkle their friend's ashes who drowned a few years back. At some point they start sharing scary stories (some are funny) and soon they realize they are in a scary situation themselves for real.

The movie has an awesome twist!

I just watched the strangest horror movie!

Lamb (2021)

It takes place in Iceland and needs subtitles, but it's slow and atmospheric, with very little dialogue. And I mean it. Dialogue is sparse.

It's about a couple in the middle of nowhere and mountains, raising sheep. During a cold wintry night, one of the sheep gives birth to something interesting.

I don't want to say more because anything will spoil it.

Tonight I'm going to watch that one that just came out of the theatres. It's looks so freakin' scary!

It stars Ethan Hawke.

The Black Phone (2022)

IMDB says:

"After being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer's previous victims."

"The Black Phone" was pretty good. If you want to teach kids not to talk to strangers, this is the movie for it.

Brenda, he's in one of my absolute scary movies called "Sinister". He doesn't play someone evil in it though like in Black Phone.

yikes, the trailer says it is "powerfully disturbing". Don't think I'll be watching that one either. :-) I need Ethan Hawk to remain romantic

The next movie in the "Halloween" franchise will be on Peacock the same day it's in theatres, October 14. This is supposed to be the last one (again).

Synopsis
"The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode comes to a spine-chilling climax in this final installment of the franchise. "

The trailer says "Their saga ends", so IMO you can read into that something other than Michael Myers dies.

A few years back I watched a movie about a slasher clown called "Terrifier". It was pretty good for a slasher flick, but extra gory.

The sequel "Terrifier 2" just came out, and on the talk shows they were talking about how people were fainting and throwing up in the theatres so I had to see it right away. This time the movie has no boundaries and the killer clown is at least 10x worse. I actually let out a few screams! It was so gruesome and sickening. A must see! (LOL kidding) I enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone.

Here's an article about it. It's actually considered a hit for being and independent horror movie.

I couldn't believe it when I read it, but it's true!

Ellen Burstyn (Mom in the original), Ann Dowd and Leslie Odom Jr. have signed on to do a direct sequel to 1973's "The Exorcist"!

By direct sequel, I mean imagine nothing else in any Exorcist movie has happened except for the original and the upcoming sequel. Just like they did with Halloween.

It's not due out until Halloween time next year.

According to this article, they've started shooting. But no mention of Linda Blair anywhere. Unless it's some big secret surprise, I dont think Linda will be in this.

There was so much hype about "M3GAN (2023)", that I was a little let down. It's still a decent horror flick, but not near what the previews have you expecting.

M3GAN (2023)
It's about a little girl who loses both of her parent, and goes to live with her aunt. Her aunt works for a huge toy tech company and she makes her a realistic robot playmate. As expected, the robot turns bad.

Naja-I have Hulu and Amazon and there are tons of horror flicks to choose from. Do you have any suggestions? Hope you’ve been doing well and managing the best way you can.

Thank you, Lakecat.

For Amazon Prime, I use this search results page.
Stick with 3.5 stars and above, and it should be pretty good. Be sure to watch that first one listed there "Smile". It scared the crap out of my DIL. haha

We loved the movie. It’s one of the few genres that my husband and I both like.
