This is another scary boarding school movie. Pretty good! The creepy head mistress is played by Uma Thurman.

Down a Dark Hall (2018)

Five emotionally fragile teens are committed to Blackwood, a mysterious school for gifted girls. Mesmerized by the intense head mistress Madame Duret, they think they have found a place where they can finally flourish academically and artistically. The mystery deepens as they break through layer after layer of misdirection to discover the true, horrifying purpose of the school.

They have remade "Pet Sematary", and it will be out next spring. This time John Lithgow plays the old neighbor across the street.

Here's a trailer:

Oh mercy. Pet Semetary was a disturbing horror movie. LOL I ended up watching it with my DD because her English teacher asked them to watch it. It was very good but I’m still not sure I could say that I enjoyed it.

Jimmer, it was such a good scary movie, I was wondering why they remade it. We'll see if it lives up. No pun intended. LOL

It’s hard to imagine how they could improve on it.

Last night I watched
Unfriended: Dark Web (2018)

It's the sequel to "Unfriended". Like the other one, it's about a group of friends doing a video chat. One of the friends has a new (but used) laptop with lots of weird stuff on it, and the previous owner starts harassing them online and will do anything to get it back. I thought the movie was as good as the first one.

I watched a really good horror movie last night called
The Dark (2018), but I didn't understand the ending. If anybody else watches it, please give me your take.

I found a scary one that is great for young, old and everyone in between. It's a really good movie!

The Witch in the Window (2018)

This is shudder.com original, but I think you can find the download around the internet at those places we don't speak of

A man takes his young son along to fix up an old house in the country. But someone seems to be there already and you can see her in the window.

Since it had a couple of big names in it, I really thought
The Nun (2018) would scare the wits out of me, but it was just OK.

In 1952, The Vatican sends a Priest and a Nun-in-training to Romania to investigate the suicide of a nun at an Abbey that is actually a few hundred years old Castle. It's old, dank and dark. And when they get there, there doesn't seem to be ANY nuns around, except for the dead nun hanging from a window.

I figured that'd be a good one, the premise had potential.

You don't run across one of these very often. A decent slasher movie!

Attack of the Tattie-Bogle (2017)

It's about a large group of friends that go vacationing on a lake. The Tattie-Bogle starts stalking and killing them. I looked it up, and Tattie-Bogle is what they call scarecrows in Scotland.

It's only an hour long and pretty good for a slasher flick even though it's very low budget. You can tell it's low budget when the producers and director of the movie also star in it. LOL

This one is fun to watch with someone because you can yell at the screen and tell them what they are doing wrong.

LOL my DD’s would be in full agreement with you, Naja. The three of us enjoy a good scary movie. Their Mom ... not so much.

I should have known it was going to be bad by the title.

The Legend of Halloween Jack (2018)

A bunch of men take out their own justice when they kill a murderer named Jack, after he was released on a technicality. A year later on Halloween, Jack comes back from the grave for revenge.

Just skip it.

I really liked this one. I would say it's more of a drama with elements horror. It's a serious movie I don't think younger people would choose for their fun horror movie night.

The Little Stranger (2018)

It takes place in 1940s Britain. A young doctor makes a house call to an old beat up Mansion he had visited when he was a child, back when it was in luxurious condition.

Strange things start happening, and of course the doctor thinks it's all in their minds. Or not?

Two of my favorite actresses are in the movie, so you know the acting is top notch. Ruth Wilson and Charlotte Rampling.

This movie was unusual. I'll explain.

Happy Birthday Hannah (2018)

A young woman is haunted by her little sister that passed away when they were both little kids. She blames herself for her sister's drowning. I'm guessing her dead sister blames her, too.

What makes it unusual is that it's low budget and horribly acted, but the scares are freakin' scary! (but you have to suffer a lot of bad acting between scares) This one I definitely consider horror.

I just watched the new Halloween (2018) and it was so good!

I didn't realize to you have to go into it with the idea that there were no other movies than the original one from 1978. It takes place now, 40 years after the original, and none of that other stuff ever happened. Michael has been locked up for that whole 40 years, he has only killed 5 people in total.... His sister when he was 6 years old, and 4 more people in 1978. Now he has escaped again and Jamie Lee Curtis has spent the last 40 years preparing for it.

This is a must see.

I got another good one! :-)

Elizabeth Harvest (2018)

I would call this horror with splash of science fiction.

A rich older man bring home his young and beautiful bride. He only has one rule for her in their huge modern mansion. She isn't allowed to enter this one single room.

Of course he goes on a trip, and bored out of her mind, she can't help but go into the room.

Yep, all hell breaks loose. I'm not even going to give the slightest clue about what's in the room, because it needs to be a surprise. Let's just say you won't be able to guess.

To add to my post above, the man that plays the older husband is the actor that played Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones. He's a great actor.
