Sounds like the new "IT" movie leaves perfect room for a sequel.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Heckagirl631. Last night I watched "Creep 2 (2017)". It's a worthy sequel, for sure. But maybe I enjoyed it a little more than the average person since I am such a Mark Duplass fan. Creep 1 is about a guy (Mark) that hires someone to video his babblings for a day, and Mark ends up being a serious disturbed person. That's all I'll say to keep it spoiler free. And Creep 2 is his next disturbing adventure with a female videographer this time.

I posted in September about how freaking scary "Annabelle: Creation" was. The scariest haunted doll movie ever. Well, now here is one of the worst haunted doll movies. Just skip it unless you want to watch it for comedy. The Curse of Robert the Doll (2016) It's about a very ugly and famous haunted male doll in a doll museum, that scares and kills the museum night shift. It's so bad. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5001436/reference

I am always downloading movies and I lose track of what I download sometimes. Well, I just noticed that "The Curse of Robert the Doll" is actually a sequel! I noticed that because I found a movie in my unorganized mess simply named "Robert the Doll" from 2015. The year before the one above. I'll let you know if it's any better. I wish I would have noticed it in my stuff before I watched the sequel .

Just saw "Happy Death Day (2017)" last night. Now that was fun! It's like "Groundhog Day", but with with a slasher murder mystery and some dark humor. A college woman keeps waking up reliving the day she is murdered, and she has to figure out who kills her in order for this horrible day to finally end. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5308322/reference I completely recommend it. It's in theaters right now.

I didn't realize that those 2 "Robert the Doll" movies I mentioned a few posts up are actually based on a real doll, like those "Annabelle" movies. I realized it tonight when I found and episode of "Ghost Adventures: Artifacts" I hadn't seen in on-demand where the doll is featured. I'm going to check it out tonight. I wonder if they look anything alike. The real Annabelle and the movie Annabelle look nothing alike.

This one is on Netflix The Babysitter (2017) This one is about a boy who decides to stay up past his bedtime and spy on his babysitter to see what she does after she tucks him in. And he's not let down. He finds that his babysitter has let in a group friends and they start playing "spin the bottle". But the game turns into something sinister and horrifying. This movie is pretty fun http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4225622/reference

I want my 90 minutes back after this one. Mother! (2017) This one stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem as a couple that live a quiet life in a huge house in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly unwanted guests keep arriving, and the husband seems to like them being there and letting in more and more, but the wife hates it. I know it doesn't sound like a horror movie, but it is. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5109784/reference

This afternoon we watched Jigsaw (2017) It's the latest sequel in the "Saw" series. And I really liked it. It's starts out like others where he picks 5 people that are guilty of something to survive his "game". But Jigsaw has died twice already, so is he back? It has a good twist and I would say it's the best one of the series after the original. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3348730/reference

I watched another movie over the weekend that scared me a good bunch. Really! The Midnight Man (2016) A teenage girl is watching her grandma in a big old house. The girl goes up to the attic to find something for her grandma and runs across a strange box with a game in it. But it's not just a game. It summons "The Midnight Man". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5629964/reference

I can't wait to see "The Cloverfield Paradox"! The first I've even heard of it was tonight during the Super Bowl. It's on Netflix right now. I'll try to get it watched in the next couple days. I liked the original and also the supplement movie "10 Cloverfield Lane", but this new sequel looks awesome.

"The Cloverfield Paradox" on Netflix was pretty good, but I would say it's more "sci-fi" than horror. It's about a time when the earth is running out of energy, so some people are sent into space to enable some sort of energy source. But in doing so, they open up a hole in between dimensions, and two dimensions get mixed up. This causes a lot a shocking chaos.

Would it be better to try to watch the other two first?

No, it's a stand alone movie. I personally don't don't see how it relates to the other movies except for 2 tiny things. I didn't even know until long after I had watched the other 2 movies that they were even related in any way.

This movie was fantastic! Marrowbone (2017) It takes place in the the late 60s. A Mother and her 4 children flee Europe to escape an Abusive father. They move into the mom's childhood massive house that has been vacant for 30 years. It's huge and old. But the mom dies and now the children have to keep her death hidden until the oldest son turns 21, or they'll lose their house and be separated. But.....something evil seems to be living in the sealed off attic. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5886440/reference Don't skip this one.

I downloaded an awful scary movie last night. The minute it started I hated it because the main character was so unlikable. I felt like I already knew her but couldn't place her. I felt like that whatever I knew her from, I didn't like her from that either. I kept thinking what a a terrible actress she is. Then it hit me. It was Michelle Money originally from Bachelor Brad Womack's season. Then I remembered why I didn't like her. She was a villain that season. Inhumane (2018) "At a secret government facility, behavioral scientist Rachel Moreno runs an experimental drug trial on a group of prison inmates to find out what caused their violent behavior. " https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4218998/reference

Last night I watched a good one! Insidious: The Last Key (2018) aka Insidious: Chapter 4 In this chapter, Elise travels to her childhood home to help the man that bought the house. The demon she left behind is still going strong. I let out some screams and had to cover my eyes for some of this movie. It was pretty scary. It has a great double twist, too! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5726086/reference

This time I watched a little bit of a stinker. I thought it was going to be good because it stars Natalie Portman and Jane the Virgin, but that didn't help it. Annihilation (2018) It's about a a biologist (Portman) that has a husband in the military. He's always going off on secret missions, so she doesn't know where he goes or what he does. This time he is the only one who returns from the mission, but he is severely ill, and doesn't seem like himself. And Portman volunteers to go into this strange place to see what happened to everyone. The IMDB synopsis says: A biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don't apply. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2798920/reference

This one was pretty good. Not great, but good. "Pyewacket (2017)" The story revolves around a mother and daughter (mom is played by Laurie Holden, the beloved Andrea on Walking Dead). The daughter is into reading about the occult and she grows increasing angry at her mother. Out of intense anger at her mom, the girl decides to try one of the spells and conjure a witch to kill her mother. The tagline is "Be careful what you wish for". https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5119116/reference

I can't believe it. Jamie Lee Curtis is coming back as Laurie Stroud to do another "Halloween". All it says on the Halloween IMDB page is Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1502407/reference It's coming this October. This is my favorite scary movie franchise.

I watched a pretty gory one this time, and it had a creepy clown. Terrifier (2017) I starts out with a talk show, and the guest is a young woman with a horribly deformed face. The woman starts to tell how her face got that way, and then the movie turns into the night she and her friend went out on the town and were followed by a very scary clown. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4281724/reference It was decent. The clown was definitely scary!
