What Mamie said. They did the background SO perfectly, that my mind wondered when they were going to do the parody, but the actress wasn't quite creepy enough with the off-kilter smiles, so I did know it was the parody.

I posted this in the news area but here it is again:

SNL's Colin Jost is going to be hosting the White House Correspondents' Dinner this year! It takes place on April 27. I think Colin is a super choice.

SNL 50th Season is set to start September 28.
There will be a 3 hour retrospective February 16.

Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney left the show.

Lorne Michaels hinted he may retire after this season and wants Tina Fey to take over. Some say it will just end if Lorne retires.

Lorne left the show before and came back. I think it was NBC politics that pushed him out.

That was way back in 1980. The worst year of the show. A lot of people say all 5 years he was gone were the worst, but I actually liked the later 4 years he was gone. I'll always remember the worst year because Denny Dillon was part of the new cast and it so awful, it didn't even have the feel of SNL.

Lorne is 79 now, so I doubt he would come back this time after he retires.

Loved the cameos for the 50th Premiere. Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Jim Gaffigan, Dana Carvey, and Jean Smart was an awesome host!

I was disappointed in Jean's opening and didnt think her skits were that great. I was so excited for her so maybe I overhyped myself.

I literally squealed when Dana showed up! Andy and Jim were great too. Maya sounds more like Kamala!

As much fun as it was to see the cameos, I found the cold opening long winded and boring. In fact I found the entire show pretty boring last night with the exception of Jelly Roll's performance. I adore Jean Smart so maybe I was just expecting too much.

I agree. I kept thinking they had a month to come up with these skits and they suck!

Weekend update was the highlight for me

This weekend they are showing the very first episode of SNL (in the live show slot).

Then this Sunday night is the big 3 hour 50th anniversary special!

Eddie Murphy as Tracy Morgan is perfect on Black Jeopardy … especially with Tracy Morgan standing next to him. Eddie did some improv… which had Leslie Jones, The real Tracy Morgan and Keenan laughing.

Love to see the flashback tape of physical comedy. I remember all those sketches, even the ones I didn’t care for at the time… talking about anything Chris Kattan was in.

I do love the Domingo sketches…. Especially, when Pedro Pascal and Bad bunny show up. I was laughing so hard.

The sketch with Kim K was one that I didn’t care for… don’t Iike Kirsten Wiig’s little hands persona. Mostly, I think they are recreating classic sketches from the past. Surprised that there aren’t that many from the early seasons. Well, maybe not surprised so much. Chevy Chase was not well liked, but thought we might see Dan Ackroyd.

Okay I may be the only one that doesn’t like Adam Sandler… never thought he was funny.

Not sure why Sabrina was in so many sketches early on. I think she’s only been on the show once. Maybe she was available?

Adam Driver as a hot dog!

I read awhile back that Adam Driver was the only host to memorize his lines… he never used cue cards.
