Seems this is a spinoff of The Good Wife, which I watched for some seasons and started hating, so I stopped.
Also spin off of The Good Fight, which I never saw.

I watched it last night and really enjoyed it - I almost didn't watch it because the commercials made her seem really annoying, but she turned out not to be not all that annoying - she was Columbo-like in my opinion.

I really liked it too. She cracked me up at her AWE of New York and I was laughing that she took the tourist bus because it was cheaper than Uber, LOL.
It's on my list to make sure I watch.

Spoiler alert...
Watched it and HIGHLY enjoyed it. My friend and I said repeatedly that Elsbeth was Columbo in a dress! Lol!
Although I figured out EXACTLY how they snared the killer. I said, that when she went to 'grovel and apologize' to their suspect, she and the lady detective... AND the young man who'd been erroneously arrested, were bs-ing and setting the killer up. Heh heh.
Whenever we'd figure it out ahead of the ending, DH and I used to say sarcastically to each other... 'I could have written this episode.'

One thing I found a tiny bit disconcerting, is that Carrie Preston reminds me of British actress Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water). Actually thought it was her, when I saw the commercials. Duh.

And her enthusiasm! I was excited that she got tickets to The Lion King, which I just saw for the third time and enjoyed every minute, plus having a couple on one side who drove here from Los Angeles. She was hoping to convince her husband that he would enjoy a musical. And on my other side, A couple with a little son who was transfixed the whole time, and it is a long production.
Anyway, I knew she would love it.

I was thinking this was like Columbo but brighter because a woman would not be accepted with the flaws of Columbo.

The Good Wife got to be such a downer for me that I stopped watching, don't remember this character, but hope I continue to enjoy this show (and that is fits in to my DVR schedule.

I had to bail on The Good Wife too. After they killed the relationship with Kalinda the series took a nose dive. The Good Fight started to get weird too.

I also watched the pilot and loved it!! I look forward to April to watch weekly. The character of Elsbeth is darling and quirky. I laughed when she would pop her head in sideways into the scene.

The early premieres for this show were so off-putting to me but I watched because I have loved the actress in everything else. I'm looking forward to the new episdodes now that they have the first one out of the way.

The back to back episodes were really fun this week! I really like that we see the crime as it happens and then watch Elsbeth dig in and figure it out.
And touches like when she climbs the wall in her quirky outfit and challenges the obnoxious real estate woman all the way up.

I am loving this show more and more with each new episode. I'm telling you, the previews they had showed for months before it began did it no favors but then maybe they just didn't know how to present a preview of her. She is quite unique and you really have to watch at least two episodes to get a gist for how she is. I adore her and this is my new favorite show besides Will Trent.

Even tho I swore not to watch this because of the constant irritating promotion for the show I ended up watching because I saw Blair Underwood in one of the latest ads. I watched 2 eps yesterday and no Blair  I liked it though and will continue to watch.
