I have watched the first four episodes of Elsbeth for free on cbs.com/Paramount+. I can also watch it for free on xfinity.com/stream for free AND with no commercials. I have enjoyed all four. I am a bit obsessed with her quirky wardrobe and all those coats and scarves and hats and mittens and assortment of big bags. How did she get all of them from Chicago to New York?

And it looks like I will be able to stream True Bloods and Claws on Xfinity for free as well

I only have a couple episodes left to watch. Wah!

A couple episodes back somebody said to Elsbeth: "So, you are from Chicago?" And she replied in horror, "Oh no, I am from Peoria". And then by way of explanation, she said, "You know, like, 'Will it play in Peoria?'"

Bwahahahaha!!! I am also NOT from Chicago, and her dialogue for that bit was SO Peoria, it was freakish. People from Peoria say almost exactly that when mistaken for being from Chicago.

My grandmother had many relatives in Peoria. In the end she chose to go into a home near them rather than be near us, as we were so far away. .

We might be related, Sea. After all Goddessatlaw and Schoolmarm turned out to be related. Well, and I am wondering if they might both have been from Peoria too?

I finished the season tonight. Very hilarious episode for the most part. I laughed out loud at the very final scene where Elsbeth was on the riverfront, and a couple of trendy women dressed just like Elsbeth walked by and they all waved and laughed.

Oh my ... I just saw one of the ladies who live here wearing an Elsbeth Hat. I wonder if that is a common crochet/knit pattern that the crafty people did, LOL.

Juju.. My grandmother's maiden name was Gilkison.. and many of her Peoria relatives. Her brother and sister had a small house in a small town of Sweetwater, Illinois. After the sister passed, and the brother became disabled, my grandmother, who was a widow, took care of her younger brother. My dad went down and had heat and a chemical toilet installed (they still favored the outhouse, but I think they used those things in winter.

There were two phone lines in town with 20 phones each which made phone calls a public thing..

I posted a link last season to a site with Elsbeth hats.. Not knitted or crocheted but fleece. Later most of the color choices had disappeared.

Looking forward to a new season.

I think they were in Iowa, Indiana and Kentucky before Peoria.

How is this show for binging? Do things happen at the end of the episodes that make you want to watch the next one right away?

Not usually cliffhangers, but this week was kind of.

This week was a 2-parter! Previous episodes can stand alone, but you learn a little more about her and all the characters each week so it's better to do the whole thing in order from the first season onwards.

It's fun seeing Carrie Preston working with her real life husband, Michael Preston (previously a villain on Lost and Evil but one of the good guys Person of Interest).

The last time I saw them working together they played a romantic couple on Person of Interest....this time it's adversarial!

I'm glad this one is a two-parter...that means he should be in the next ep, too. It would be cool if they made him at least a recurring character so they could have fun with a lot more sparring.

I think it's Michael Emmerson. I did not know they were married. Interesting.

You're absolutely correct, Strategist. Jeez..I even looked him up at IMDB because I couldn't remember his last name...I saw "Emmerson", thought "Of course!" and then proceeded to type his wife's last name again.

(I'll be 74 in 2 weeks...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I do stuff like all the time these days.)
