Watched it tonight. Agreed. When it wasn't on for a few weeks I was worried they had only made about 8 or 9 episodes to see how people liked it.

I may have to revisit this show. I only watched a couple of episodes and I just didn't find the character she was trying to portray believable.

I was still seeing her as a singer rather than an action hero but, as I said, I'll give it another chance.
Are there any key plot points or ongoing story arcs that I will have missed if I start watching with the current episode?

Yeah, Robin (the Equalizer) and the Detective, Dante, who were almost flirting and almost collaborating, until Robin went too rogue on him.
DA has proclaimed the vigilante a top priority for the police to apprehend and make an example of. Detective Dante (who has two adorable children Robin met on Facetime) seems to be onboard with bringing down the vigilante, even though she saved his life a couple times in the last episode.
Robin and her sullen daughter, who, the past two episodes seems to have turned into her sunny daughter.
Reminder that the female component of Robin's wonderful friends is also an expert sniper markswoman.

I suspect that Dante is only pretending to go after Robin so that he can get info from the DA about her investigation.

Oh, good. I was afraid the one I watched tonight was the finale, the one where Queen Latifah again saves the world, and Det. Dante "could have" justifiably shot her, but didn't, and therefore he must recuse himself from further trying to capture her. LOL.

And I just found out a couple days ago that they did a season 5 of this show, and I still love it. The daughter is now 18, and both she and the aunt now know what Mom does. Robin had to enroll the daughter in martial arts classes last season just in case the daughter gets kidnapped again. And now the daughter is thinking of going into a military academy instead of Ivy league college. Auntie Viola and Mom Robin are having kittens over the thought, while Mom still engages in gun fights every single day, and Auntie Vi is getting the cold shoulder from her same-sex paramour because Auntie Vi has become so secretive.
Go catch up. You'll love it. Paramount/CBS.com.
