Oh, I hate these long waits between seasons. I have such a hard time remembering what I watched on TV nearly a year ago.

Canadians - if anyone is interested, CTV is showing the first season, uncut, every night at 10 starting next week.

I come bearing bad news. Instead of a usual spring premiere, season 7 won't be starting until summertime. That means after June 21st. There are already a few trailers out there.

Yes that's so weird. The summer doesn't seem at all suitable for an amazing show whose theme is "Winter is coming". It shouldn't be a summer show. I'd almost rather they wait until the fall. This also means its Emmy streak is over.

Neil Fingleton, the 7 ft 7 in man that played the giant, has passed away. He was only 36

I am so confused. Amanda Peet was on a talk show last night and her husband is David Benioff. He's a writer/director/producer of the show. Anyway, she said this summer is the final 6 episodes, and that's it. Was she mistaken?

It appears that the upcoming season 7 will be starting July 16, 2017 and will be 7 episodes long. Season 8 is the final season (to air sometime in 2018) and it will be 6 episodes long. ------- The Final ‘Game of Thrones' Season Will Be Really Short Mar 13, 2017 <snip> "Seasons one through six all had 10 episodes each. However, season seven, which premieres on HBO on July 16, will feature seven episodes. HBO announced the season seven premiere alongside a teaser trailer last week at SXSW. The showrunners and HBO have previously said that there would be fewer episodes in season seven and season eight. They've decided on the 13 episodes between the final two seasons based on how far they think they can take the story. HBO hasn't yet announced when season eight will premiere, but filming likely won't begin for months, suggesting it'll hit TVs in 2018." <snip> FULL article is here: http://fortune.com/2017/03/13/game-of-thrones-final-season/

Why was Sam doing slave-like duties? When he showed up at that place last season, he introduced himself as the new Maester. Maesters don't clean out shit pails. And that first scene was awesome! I was confused for about 10 seconds thinking it was a flashback, but it hit me quickly what was going on. Wow that was fun.

And one more thing....It was darn weird watching this show on a day when it was almost 100 degrees outside. This is more of a snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and a warm beverage show.

Ya .... Winter is coming doesn't work quite as well on a hot summer evening. Still love it though! I don't get the Sam thing either. Aside from being nauseating, it didn't make much sense. I guess it emphasizes he's pretty low in the hierarchy. No gratuitous nudity either. How disappointing. Just kidding. I can't wait for the next episode!

The thing with Sam didn't seem unusual to me. It was like a student or intern providing free labor. I have to admit, I did miss this: The Unsettling Thing You Missed in the Game of Thrones Premiere Article spoiler: Sansa's hair

How weird was it seeing Mag the giant in the dead army? It gave me chills. Especially since the original actor has passed.

I guess a lot of GOT fans online are really ticked off that Ed Sheeran made a cameo. I thought it was adorable. I thought his look blended right in and it was a fun surprise.

I loved the cameo but maybe some fans felt that it distracted from the seriousness of the show. If anyone looks like he belongs on Game of Thrones, it's Ed Sheeran. Of course, it doesn't hurt that my whole family are big Ed Sheeran fans. The Sansa hair thing was a bit spooky. I can see her and Jon having disagreements but I hope she doesn't turn on him. Then again, they had disagreements last season as well. Obviously, the official heir is Bran but he is (permanently?) unavailable. Jon is in control but Sansa has a claim.

I liked the cameo. I thought he actually has the look to fit in GOT, he could also be in a lord of the rings movie. Loved the premiere. I think Sansa will push back on John with a little help from Baelish. He is going to want her to lead
