I haven't seen either Jasper but will keep eyes open now. I am working my way through season 1 of Reggie Perrin which is a freakin' hoot and a half.

Another Britcom I love is 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Here is the Wikipedia reference... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vicar_of_Dibley The episodes are on You Tube. Here ise one of my favorites for the finale of the series... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vt5zZlrRUE

I'm watching Hugh Bonneville in a British mockumentary called Twenty Twelve. I bought the season on Amazon Instant Video. It is about preparing London for the Olympics. Pretty funny so far.

Rieann, yes, Dawn French is a funny lady, that whole cast is good. Another favourite is The Royle Family. And I think I would watch anything Martin Clunes is in so I'll keep an eye out for Reggie Perrin.

I used to watch Vicar... years ago so not sure how long the series was or how much I watched. It was certainly a good one. Also of course, Waiting for God, One Foot in the Grave and the Australian show, Mother and Son (oh Lordy, that scene where she describes throwing the oranges at a funeral, I was literally blind with tears of laughter LOL). Jasper, Reggie Perrin is one of the funniest shows I have seen, definately hunt it down. I understand it's a remake of an 80's sitcom (also British).

YAH! So glad you are enjoying it. I can't think of a single North American sitcom where I laugh out loud the way I do with the Brit ones. Maybe 'Episodes' comes close but does really that count as American or English? LOL

Just finished with Perrin, last 5 minutes had me bawling. Going to kill me not having a third season (although with the British you never know, maybe it will pop up next year). I really adore this couple and for someone as unconventionally handsome as Clunes, he can manage downright sexy at times. Now onto the 2nd seasons of Mi-5 and Doc Martin.

Not sure where to put this... Is anyone still using the Netflix DVD service? Are you able to search for and add DVDs to your queue? I can get to both my dvd and instant queues, but when I search for a new dvd it goes to a page that tells me to log in, when I log in it goes to the instant watching page, try again and it just repeats. It's fine with watch instantly titles.

"Are you able to search for and add DVDs to your queue? " No problem here. Of course, I don't have the "instant watching" option....I never used it and then discovered (here at TVCH) that I was paying an extra $8/mo for it whether I used it or not! Could you have somehow accidentally switched your account to instant watching only?

I'm able to search for movies, add them to my queue, move things around in my queue, etc. I use IE9.

We use the instant watching more than the dvds now. I checked to see if I'd been put on the instant only, but if I have there's nothing about it on my account page, and they're still charging me for both! Thanks Brenda, I'm not able to do most of that. I'm on firefox, maybe that's it. Very irritating. And Netflix don't even let you email complaints now, you have to actually phone them.

I rang them, phone queue was only a couple of minutes long, she said to go to www.netflix.com/clearcookies which I did... logged back in and it worked perfectly! So not so bad after all!

Sometime next midseason, NBC is going to air a 13 episode series called "Hannibal". Yep, based on the famous cannibal. http://www.nbc.com/hannibal/about/

...and for someone as unconventionally handsome as Clunes, he can manage downright sexy at times. I agree Rissa! Maybe it's that his Reggie character cracks me up so much. I haven't watched a lot of Doc Martin, but didn't get that vibe when I did. I need to watch that series from start to finish. I'm almost done with season one of Reggie. I'm trying to go slow. I went so fast through the two seasons of Twenty Twelve with Hugh Bonneville, that I'm sad it's over. BTW I loved MI-5.

Hannibal looks good, Naja. I like Hugh Dancy and I recognize Hannibal as the bad guy in the Bond film Casino Royale.

Canada - It looks like Showcase is going to have quite the line up of new shows. Rieann - I've been enjoying the Masterpiece Mystery with Lewis and Hathaway (I love him for some reason).

Attn film lovers (or Kurosawa lovers, at least): TCM is having what looks like Toshiro Mifume appreciation day starting Thursday at 3 AM my time. It will include the following Kurosawa films: Drunken Angel, Roshomon, Seven Samurai, Throne of Blood, Yojimbo, and Red Beard. It continues with some of Mifune's post-Kurosawa work (he and Kurosawa had a falling out while filming Red Beard), but I'm less interested in that. If you love Mifune's work, though, the films are probably worth seeing. They include Samurai Part 1, Samurai Part 2, and others.

Rieann - I've been enjoying the Masterpiece Mystery with Lewis and Hathaway (I love him for some reason). Jasper, I need to add that one to my list! Did you watch the Masterpiece Mystery Movie, 'Endeavour' about a young Inspector Morse (set in 1965)? I was wondering if it was good. I have it on hold at the library to pick up. You usually can't go wrong with anything Masterpiece does though.

I don't know if we have any other Craig Ferguson fans here (He's the only late night show I watch daily), but tonight is the last night on his old set. He moves out of "the basement" for tomorrow night's show. It's been fun all these years listening to him complain about it. I might miss it....LO

I don't always catch Craig's show but I think it's great. He could easily carry the entire hour with no guests and still be thoroughly entertaining!

I misspoke. He said last night is the last night they are taping in the old studio, and we won't get to see the new studio until his vacation is over.
