TMZ reported that she received exactly 2.5 million most of it coming from life insurance policies.

Tx, I know that figure isn't right. After Jeff died, Gretchen said she had to go back to work or do something to earn an income because Jeff left her very little (in the grand scheme of things). She said she was only left enough money to not work for about one year. She didn't even get the house. There is no way Gretchen received $2.5 million.

Wait, there is more. Supposedly she got 2.5 million but his estate was in debt 3 million so she basically got nothing.
Also, Peggy and Micah seem to be in foreclosure trouble according to yesterdays Orange County register. They are trying to negotiate a load mod.

Gretchen told a news source that she received about 3/4 of a million when she was questioned about how she could already be broke after receiving millions of dollars from Jeff's passing and went on to say it's not hard to spend $750k in a year. I'm not sure that the life insurance she would have received would have gone to his debt but again, that's California and not sure of how things work there.

Tonight's show was pretty funny. The skit between Slade and his mom was hilarious. She doesn't know what he does? Who does? I think he makes it up as he goes along. He claimed to have just finished his last contract two weeks ago but he was saying a couple of weeks ago that he had no income. He's Gretchen's lackey, basically. But, at least his mom thinks he's good enough to sit around waiting for Gretchen's dad to retire to he can take over that goldmine business of his.
And I can't believe how full of herself Alexis is. Her business? Her husband's money is behind the business and her 'friend' is the one designing the dresses. All she does is put her really 'famous' face on the labels and tear the dresses apart if she doesn't like them. And who, exactly, are they designed for anyway? Skeletal women with the biggest fake breast implants imaginable?

Kellsma, that sounds about right. Now that I think about it, I remember her saying the Jeff's estate was in debt so she collected almost nothing which is why she had to go to work.

Alliet - ITA with everything you said above. The skit was hilarious between Slade and his Mom. She was trying real hard figure out what he "does" and I thought it was a scream that she mentioned him taking over Gretchen's Dad's business!!! As if....
Alexis is ridiculous! It's all her hubby's money and her friend's talent.
I need to stop watching this show...

I do too, Reenie, but it's the only HWs show I watch and it makes me laugh (sometimes). I certainly don't want to start with any of the other HWs shows. This one's more than enough.

I don't blame Peggy because, as shallow as she often appears, she seems to be the most 'normal' of the bunch.
As for Alexis - she is delusional and I'm sure the real designer was smarting when Alexis was introduced as the 'designer' of the Alexis Couture (LMAO) line. I am sure she meant French delicacy when talking to Pascal about the foie gras. That woman is totally classless but aspiring to be something she will never become. LOL Poor thing.
I was feeling a little sorry for Vicki last night when she was upset about her marriage but she really has to take responsibility for a lot of it by never being home for either her husband or her kids. I did feel bad for her when she was being besmirched for her 'ill timed' (is there ever a good time to hemorrhage?!) absence from the stupid fashion luncheon.
Gretchen - I felt sorry for her when she first started on this show but this season she has sunk to lower depths than I would have imagined. What a total piece of work. She and Smiley seem to be made for each other.

It is becoming more painful every week to watch Alexis.
And the Miami HW got so screwed. Their reunion show was one hour on WWHL and last night Andy said the OC reunion took 10 hours to tape. It sucks when you get canceled before your first season finishes airing.

Lexie, did the Miami HW get canceled? I didn't know that. I have only watched OC, really, but I caught a couple episodes of Miami and I wasn't impressed. In fact, I was scared by the mother of one of the HWs...the mother with the abominable plastic surgery and the very thick accent.

Alexis has a lot of nerve think others cause drama when she she could have won an academy award for her behavior at Peggy and Micha's event when she was upset over her absent hubby.
I am no fan of Vicki but Gretchen should be ashamed of herself if it turns out she is truly ill. Bleeding like that is a serious matter.
