It would make sense that this is not Survivor. They have vigorous challenges each day. If the weak players have to dropout rather than be voted off that is money lost. Better to vote out those who won't make it early.

Juju, technically this is a "new" show for us in the U.S. I suspect the contestants on this show never heard of it before if it only played on Australian TV.

If I was playing that game, and I knew those people were most likely going to kick me to the curb, I would bail beforehand and take the money with me.

I caught up on demand, but agree on the dislikes and the production is bad. I find myself hoping they all lose.

I’m enjoying the show too. It’s different enough from the other big reality shows that it’s interesting.
I don’t like the strategy of voting helpful, strong people off the show but I partly can see the reasoning.
I’m not a fan of Dennis or Beckylee because they seem smug and obnoxious but the person who i really find irritating (that I don’t think anyone else has mentioned) is the host. He’s just so annoying.

I will still watch as well, maybe they will get smarter now that they see some of the slow ones going after the strong ones that can get them to the top.

I think the fact that they can instantly hold the money they steal from others is definitely factoring into getting rid of people. The stronger ones figure if they get rid of their threats they are that much closer to the money. So far they are only behind one pit stop so you know what people are like. The strong ones think, I can make up that time easy and these slow people will never be competition for me.

But are they behind one pit stop? I've tried to find that info, but can't find it anywhere.
I do wonder if they *are* supposed to make one pitstop per day, since the bivouac camps are there too?

The bivouac camp with the fires and better accomodations are the pitstops. They missed the first one and had to sleep in the open so I figure they are one behind

They don't have to vote someone out at the bivouacs, if I recall correctly?
The checkpoints are the official stops where they do have to vote someone out.

When they sleep at a "bivy camp" they do not vote anyone out. I think they stay at the bivy camp if they can't make it to the checkpoint.
I think they are behind one of the "Mack Daddy" checkpoints with the food, fire and tents.
(I think but I wouldn't swear to it)

Lets say they are one check behind, each of the strong players probably figure they can make it up and if they get rid of the other strong players it will be an easy win because the slow pokes won't make it to the end.

Punkin is commenting in the Summit Facebook group, she says they were of the mindset that it would be a Survivor or Big Brother thing, and so that's how they were playing... voting off the strongest.
