You’re welcome for the banner. I enjoyed the show. Interesting relationships among the contestants. I guess they voted Rose off because she was seen as being difficult and because she was more inclined to wait and be supportive of the slower contestants and called out one of the faster contestants? Then as a result, they kept one of the slower contestants. It’s also interesting that unlike all the other reality shows I’ve seen, the decision and vote was not secret. That could prove interesting in the future.

This is a great show. I can only see it getting better and better as the weeks pass. Even better that they have to publicly vote. If the slow pokes band together, it will be epic. They may not end up with a lot of money but it would be priceless.

I don't get it. Why are they voting off the strongest players now? And risking their chance of making it to the summit? Seems like they should vote off the last remaining slowest ones, then start picking off the stronger ones? What am I missing?

That is what I would do Karuuna. What we are looking at is hubris pure and simple. Each one of those strong players think that they are so brilliant that they will get rid of their threats, without even considering that they are a threat to the others. T

Except I wish they would get rid of Dennis. Next. He is so annoying.

Bo was probably going to be voted off anyway. I don't understand the producer's need to eliminate him so cruelly. Dennis is beyond annoying at this point. He wanted to be the villain even before they knew what the game was. Producer plant? My understanding was that if they didn't make the summit in 15 days, they lose ALL their money. Please let me know if I have it wrong. So many rules were being given that I have tuned them out at this point, sigh.

Kappy, you are correct. they have to make the summit to win any money (but I think it's 14 days?). Everyone who makes the summit shares in whatever money is left when they make it. I'm a little confused about the checkpoints tho. Manu keeps saying they are behind, but doesn't explain why, since they just made a checkpoint. Are they a checkpoint behind? And if they are, that means they need to skip one? Will they let them blow thru one without stopping, or without voting off?

They missed the first checkpoint so they are a checkpoint behind unless the do two checkpoints in one day

I am pretty sure that the producers have these "evictions" set up well in advance, whether it would be Bo or someone else. They would have to test them out. Can you imagine if that harness didnt hold? That is a scary way to kick someone off.

Yep, they are already behind, they need to really push it to catch up and the future climbs are only going to be harder. It is stupid to keep the slow people, the only way they have any chance at getting to the summit is to vote off the slow people and use the strong ones to help the remaining slow ones until they can get them all off. Then you go after all the "alpha" males, or least all the ones who think they are THE alpha male.

Oh and it is 14 days to get to the summit. I would take a long hard look at that map to see what the different treks involve and start planning appropriately.

I found an article that was interesting: - they weren't told that they were climbing a mountain, but they were told it would be physically difficult, so "start jogging". - 50 support staff are hiking with them. https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2024/10/09/the-summit-tv-show-cbs/75560348007/

I love this show! When the helicopter came up to the bridge and nearly blew the guy off, wow! Like others I was shocked they had to chop the rope while he was on it without any notice! Made for good tv I guess?

About the rope chopping, I was a bit surprised they didn't show more footage of Bo falling, just the very initial bridge collapse. Made me wonder if there was something they didn't want us to see.

I wondered if they really didnt cut the rope and have him fall back into the mountain. I think that is why they didnt show more of it. I think they had more safety precautions than we were shown

I predict Therron for the win. I kinda suspect the helicopter was up there holding the rope, or secondary rope, for all contestants, and especially Bo. During the intros or ads for last night's episode, they were showing a clip of someone being airlifted with another person, presumably a rescuer. I am pretty sure New Zealand regulators will have made absolutely sure nobody can die on this show. If you ever get the chance to go to New Zealand, and can afford it, do it.

Pamy, I thought I saw him fall, just the beginning of it? But yeah, it seems it would be very dangerous. He probably didn't fall far because of the safety rope. Juju, in a couple of shots, you could see that a safety rope was strung all along the length of the bridge - just above their head level, that's what they were all attached to, in case they fell off the bridge while trying to cross.
