Grooch, I think the difference is that Dr. Will and Boogie + Shannon were a team of bullies and they did some really nasty things. The scrubbing the toilet with Hardy's toothbrush. Will's antics in the hottub which resulted in Nicole's husband sending the banner and her complete mental breakdown. They took pleasure in destroying people. Dee is just an angry person who believes that she is an "Icon", not a game Icon but an Icon. She feels entitled to everything.
Maybe I am giving Barrett more credit but I think he just holds himself back when there is no point in gameplay and putting himself out there. noms are locked, one of the three is going home and he cant win HOH. I think he wants to win the game but it isn't all that for him. he is playing because he is a superfan and wants the experience of the game. I think he is waiting to see who stays and who wins HOH.
Dee is not a nice person. It is like she said early on in the game -- she is never going to see any of these people again. she is there for the money and nobody better get in her way and she will do and say anything to get it. Unless she can win some comps and HOH, she won't win this game. I am hoping for a Barrett/Yash final two.

If these people are so psychologically weak, they should not have put themselves out there on national TV to play a psychological experiment game.
I believe it all to be game play, I don't feel sorry for any of them who chose to be locked up in that house so they could be on BB and all are hoping for something great after the show to happen to them.
It is like eating all the cake but calling foul and being upset about the calories that come with it.
Nothing Dee has done/said/thought is outside of the bounds of Big Brother. Yes Dee is playing psychological games with their heads...just another avenue of game play. Certainly not as horrific as Evil Dick, which BB allowed to happen in season in 8.

I agree, Dee needs to go. How she acted at the Veto ceremony was the last straw for me. I want Devins to win so I hope he wins BB tonite!!

I hate using the word bully so freely. Dee is playing a game, and her gameplay might not be what some like, but is the way she plays. I do not think she is a bully or a mean person. So easy to throw those words out. I am not a fan, do not want her to win. But she is playing her game. I have watched a lot of feeds this season. We do not have to like it or put labels on it.
I hope Devins stays tonight!

Another one that was worse than Dee was Dick. The way he treated Jen was awful!

I also think CBS does a better job of screening people. BB2 was so early in the series, BB2 was a wake up call for CBS, so many bad choices. Knife wielding Justin, Nyquil guzzling Krista, Autumn a young single mother who was emotionally fragile. Inexperienced casting/screening choices. That was the season they cut the booze. It was also 9/11 season, Monica's cousin was killed. For the last few weeks of the season Nicole was heavily medicated they even had her husband call her -- which was very unusual -- but she was a mess.
I am sure that the rule book now is so thick with what is acceptable behavior and what is not.
I do think that Barrett is gameplay and Dee is a combination of gameplay and anger.

The woman on the RHAP podcast last night was Aubrey Bracco, who was a returnee on Survivor 50 with Dee and Devens. Aubrey was the winner of the $2 million.
I think things have not improved in terms of bullying, but several factors. Dr Will was also charming.. Boogie was not. On the season where Boogie won, he was worse but Will basically played to get Boogie the win. After Boogie stalked Will and his wife and kids, they aren't friends and there is a restraining order.
Meanwhile the atmosphere in many reality shows encourages this sort of behavior and audiences eat it up.
And real life currently has so called leaders providing the toxic and bullying content, so it has become normalized.
In Dee's winning season she had an alliance including her showmance, Austin, that she abandoned. She was grooming Barrett this season and now claims she would have taken him to final 2 but he had the audacity to break away.

Well, I won't call her a bully again (if I did, but I don't think I did.) I'm just going to call her unhinged, when she's acting unhinged.
I could have called her behavior bullying, not sure, but I will now call her behavior thuggery or thuggerish if the need arises.

Dee and Angela the past few days acting like they are Tony Soprano and Silvio Dante plotting the whacking of the HGs that dared to go against the "family". Lighten up ladies, you were gifted weeks of free get out of jail free cards.
Dee you're not special there are half a million women like you in Dade County, you're a type and you're a beotch just because you can.
Dee, Drew and Angela gone in that order please.

So Melody goes up to the HOH and a minute later here comes Inspector Gadget plopping down on the couch, followed by Dee, Drew, Yash even Taylor.
Would have loved Barrett getting up quietly leaving and laying down on the couch in the living room.

Again, I think it all hinges on who we like/dislike.
The things Dee is doing is very tame. Apparently we think that these grown adults can’t handle somebody confronting them, that somehow it’s worse than going into a room and screaming or beating up a pillow, etc.
Maybe I’m just different, but some of the most memorable things from the feeds are the big blowups! I’ll never forget Will taunting Nicole while on the big bed, Howie’s Bus** rant against April, Dick and Jen’s blowup over her destroying his cigarettes, Tyler and Bailey going at it, Jordan going after Russell, Britney, Regan and Rachel’s blowups, Ronnie hiding in the HOH afraid to come out, etc. That’s when feeds were must see! Nothing this season comes even close.

I definitely agree that the term bullying is used too broadly, BUT I refuse to be too hesitant to call it out when I see it.
The vetting of people may be better but people are or seem to be encouraged to or rewarded for anything that makes for "good" tv, feeds, social media..
It has long been known that people can be encouraged to treat badly, hurt, bully? others for no good reason. I got my psych degree over 50 years ago and was appalled then at the results of experiments where subjects could and did (or thought they did) inflict pain via electric shock, on others.
Look up the Milgram Experiment.. There is a lot online pre AI..

People differ as to what is must see. A good blowup doesn't have to be an ongoing vendetta.
But as I said we see people in power acting SO badly, that we accept some things ... I guess.
As for vetting, they didn't do a great job this season with some of the bros.

Bp, I agree. I cannot listen to the ZZ Top song "she's got legs" without thinking of Dr. Will the morning after the hot tub incident and Nicole having a meltdown. The only thing I never enjoyed was the treatment of Autumn because she obviously was out of her depth. Marcellas line about Tonya had me but out laughing "A stripper masquerading as a mother"

I read that Devens is coughing. Someone posted.. Not sure if it was here or where that hopefully he has been tested since someone from production could have brought in something while asymptomatic.
I don't thing production would change a comp, though.
I am leaving soon fora three hours lecture (with A/C!!!) so will be very interested so see the comp when Julie demonstrates it).
If it is ropes, I think Dee was a lock to win, even if Devens was not sick.

Also they don't want too much publicity, like Adam using his winning s to deal drugs and bring in the runner up too. But he had already lost his job by calling kids he supposedly supported ••••••, I think was the term he used.
