Today's show: way to go Kimberley, and surely Helen is going to get a talking to about the slug comments.

Either they're forgetting the public votes to evict or they're not very smart. It's obvious that the more they badmouth Jale the more the public will want to keep her in the house. The fact that she's always up for nomination makes her the least threatening to the others, so why don't they just leave her alone? I used to like Ash but now can't stand his constant picking on the girls.
Chris is smart but let's hope his identity won't be revealed to the others because he will for sure face nomination next time...although I think he will be nominated either way.
So, if the public, as someone on this board said, likes to see controversial housemates in the house instead of evicting them, why Tamara was gone? Why was Danielle more interesting than Tamara, I can't see it.. Tamara was maybe the only girl who would have wanted a showmance while the other girls are the type... don't touch me! And the boys are so gossipy that they only say bad things about them, but I think Big Brother could have done better with the choice of girls, can't blame the boys for not warming up to them..
and the smokers!! Oh the horror! They smoke indoors and it would have been enough for me to beg for eviction...

They smoke indoors??! I missed that. Surely the non-smokers can say that creates an unhealthy working environment. I know it's not exactly working but smoking is illegal in the UK inside all public buildings and workplaces. I can't believe BB would let them do that!

Seems like Helen did get a talking to, but not a formal warning.

They don't smoke indoors. They have a nice little sofa area in the garden for the smokers. There are four walls, but it is open to the sky so it is outdoors.

showmance does not equal controversial or interesting.

Tamara is gone almost entirely because she was close with Pauline and Helen.

Is there anybody in that house that doesn't smoke?

What percentage of UK residents between the ages of 18-35 smoke?

Don't UK residents know smoking causes cancer or don't they care?

BTW, I don't think there's ever been a more despicable HG on BBUK than Helen. Please BBUK give Chris the power to take Helen's 'free pass to the final' and give it to another HG. Make it Jale and Helen automatically takes her place on the chopping block every week. Then we all can sit back and watch the explosion! LOL

Phew, glad BB didn't inflict that on the others!

Smoking in England is about the same as in the US, around 19%. Smoking rates are high for people in their 20s and 30s, and higher the further North you go (because the further north traditionally are a higher percentage of working class and more poor). Smoking is banned in public places and workplaces, on all transport, in cars with kids, so the government has made an effort, it just it still seems to be considered cool. And oh yes they know it causes cancer! You should see the warning labels on cigarette boxes, and the new pictures they are introducing later this year: http://www.talktalk.co.uk/money/galleries/view/money/smokingpicturewarnings/browse/1 (actually you really might not want to look at those pictures). I just don't understand it.

Helen is pulled into the DR and given a warning about bullying Jale. Unfortunately not a "formal" warning. Of course she tries to make excuses for it.

Haven't seen the show yet, but read about someone yelling over the fence and Jale blabbing. From the way it sounds she turned into the character from her video.

BB has got to do something because just yesterday BOTS said the PHM would not be identified. This is a mess...she should get a warning for sure. Or, they need to help Chris get out of this mess.

Re Helen's warning:
Quote:
Snip:
Big Brother added: "Big Brother thinks your behaviour is unacceptable and Big Brother does not tolerate unacceptable behaviour. If this type of behaviour occurs again then Big Brother may have to issue you with a formal warning or take further serious action."
End Quote

Has Helen been warned before and if she has could they mean booting her by 'further serious action?'

I still can't believe what Jale did. She might go instead of Pauline this week. If not this week...soon. She's no victim anymore.

Jale harmed herself more than Chris. She had the public's sympathy and she lost it. When Pauline leaves on Friday, Jale wants to take her place and become the head bully. The shrinks on BBBOTS have said that the reason Jale and Pauline didn't get along right from the start is that they are so similar. I believe it. Jale was so intent on being right that she didn't care at all about anything Chris said.

I don't think Chris deserved what Jale did to him, but I don't think that was the worst thing said this week. I still like Jale and I think she might have done that so no one could use it against her. I think with Jale, she's reacting to how she's been treated; people have made up lots of things about her, and I think it's getting to her, even though she's not showing it.

I think today Toya towards Christopher was awful; her treatment of him is ongoing. And she won't speak to him, she just gossips about him, as if she knows what he thinks, when she doesn't know him at all. I think BB should speak to Toya along with Helen. I really wish Helen could go, she's been horrible, but I agree with bots, I think her ticket to the final should be taken away.

It's like everyone in there has forgotten where they are. Have they not watched this show? Someone has to be the PP. And that person was chosen by the viewers, it's like they've all forgotten that. They're in a game. Friday can't come soon enough. And I really hope it's Pauline to go, then maybe a different dynamic will come out in some, though, I don't think that would happen with Helen.

It seems that at least half the HM smoke (every year) I suppose the same type of person that would want to be on BB, would also be the type to do other risky behavior (like smoking). They used to allow smoking in the house. Thank goodness they stopped that.

Every year they take away the cigs. I can't believe these folks that don't bring enough for their stay but those that have usually have them shredded or smoked by other HM. They are allowed to buy cigs or tobacco on the luxury shopping budget but it's always a problem. I think only 10% of the budget is allowed for alcohol, I don't know if that includes cigs also.

The US HM get nicotine patches but I don't know if the UK HM do.

Is this the first time the UK house has had someone yelling at the HM? I don't remember any. I know there were balls with notes in the garden, but I thought that was BB stirring.

I had read that Helen has had MANY warnings so far but I don't know where they could have got that info.

What was Jale thinking? There are so many mean people this year. Pauline, Toya, and Helen remind me of the three witches of MacBeth--bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.

At the end of yesterday's show I saw Jale telling some of the quieter people about it but nothing too big, was there a clip of her telling the others? (Or I guess it will be in today's show if I wait...)

I think she had to have a bad side because of her VT and the things she said about being tasered and ?? can't remember the other one. You must be the sort to fly off the deep end if that sort of thing has happened to you more than once. In her defense (not yet having seen quite what she did) she is being accused of being the PHM and she does seem to trust Chris so it would be a double whammy finding out it was him. I just wish Chris could have subtly mentioned that "whoever the PHM is, they're probably not allowed to admit it's them," just so she's not so crazy about him lying to her.

Meanwhile, what an idiot to call it out over the wall! It's really going to affect the game, even beyond this week if other PHMs don't feel comfortable picking who they want because they don't trust it's private.

My, my, what a difference a warning by Big Brother makes. All of sudden Helen and Pauline are Jale fans. What?

During one of the tasks today, Helen actually says, "Jale is not fence sitter" meant as a compliment and Pauline has been oh so nice about Jale. Both she and Helen complimented Jale on what a great job she did in her part of the task.

I want to throw up.

I am not getting this Kim/Steven possible showmance at all. Surely Kim saw him bawling like a baby in Pauline's arms the other night. He's not the toughest of guys...looks okay, but not much else.

Is she just trying to stay on the show longer? I still don't know what's up with her. She's so non-committal that most of the time I feel she's acting.

ETA: Danielle just doesn't get it. She thinks doing a task is degrading to her? Hate to tell her, but she's no beautiful Irish lass (I'm Irish, so don't smack me please) and then she repeats what Chris says to her, so she's going to be in trouble again. She needed to lay low for awhile. She's made hard to defend her.

Ahh, thanks, Flagg. I wasn't aware of that. I knew Ashleigh was Irish, but didn't know Christopher was.

Too bad Toya isn't up for eviction, Kitt.

I don't understand a lot of them picking on Christopher, but the little I watched of BOTS today had Tamara saying he was annoying in the house because he would ask a lot of questions.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems better than attacking people like some of them do.

I think Christopher is just socially inept. Not a bad person but just isn't good at people. I'm always surprised at how judgemental people are to others who don't socialise well, being a little reserved myself I quite often used to (when I wasn't such a hermit) be referred to as stuck up because they assigned an about-them motive to my about-me quietness. Christopher seems to go the other way, talks too much, but it's not like he's nasty, he's just doing his thing.

Next week the PHM should be the public. Put up Pauline (if she's still there), Toya and Helen.

I also thought Christopher was just "unaware" but watching todays show, he reminded me of Shahbaz from Pete Bennett's season - the fellow that went nuts & left on day 6 after throwing all the food out.

I watched Mark on ShipWrecked series & really like him on there. He was more interested in having fun than playing the game. This was also 5 years ago when he was 18 though.

I'm getting bored by this series, I am really disappointed. I don't know if it's due to lack of live feed or what but I'm losing interest.

Noooo don't say that! I am still interested but quite often it is making me really angry (the Toya vs Christopher thing yesterday being a prime example) and I don't like being made angry by tv shows! I do think they need to do something to encourage interactions which aren't nasty, and unfortunately this hidden PHM, although a great idea in many ways, has just made everything worse in the house.

I think having Pauline as the power housemate right on launch night screwed up all of the social interactions in the house.

Instantly giving someone like Pauline a position of authority with the rest of the house barely over 20 created a huge division that doesnt usually happen until later in the season.

They voted Toya as power person? Moan. She is so abrasive and won't let anyone get a word in edgewise when they disagree. I think what's annoying me with this group is that so many of them--especially Toya, Helen, and Pauline--carry on about a target just like my kids and their friends did in high school. One person ranks on another, and they all chime in. It's tedious.

Friday's show will be on an hour earlier (as well as Sat-Sunday) with a 40 minute break in the middle. Thanks to Kitt's schedule for keeping us informed.

Fri 20 1-2pm BB: Live Eviction
Fri 20 2.40-3.10pm BB: Eviction interview
Fri 20 3.10-4.10pm BOTS

I agree with Flagg, giving Pauline SO much power, giving her henchman Helen a pass. I doubt Helen would be different but being up for eviction would have shaken her up.

I hope Pauline goes, but doubt it will make much difference, another HM will just take her place.

OMG! I missed the first half of the show & caught it when Kim got in shower with Winston. I thought that was so out of character for her, I didn't realize that 5 people had been working in manure & there is only 1 shower & they made a big deal out of it. How frustrating.
