He was a guest star and mentor on Canadian Idol years ago and they sang a lot of his music. It was so nice to see him interact with and advise the contestants and to see their much deserved appreciation for him. What a gracious, talented and humble man.

I first heard of and then heard him when Ian & Sylvia brought him here to one of their gigs at a small venue, The Golden Bear. So many great songs. That is nice to know he was a mentor on Canadian Idol.

I am a huge Gordon Lightfoot fan, probably know all of the lyrics to most of his biggest hits. I am glad he was alive during my period of life. I appreciated his musical brilliance.

At our music Zoom yesterday I already had chosen Jamaica Farewell in memory of Harry Belafonte and a newly discovered John Denver song, we had one song from Willie Nelson, in honor of his 90th. But one of the guys will sing a Gordon Light foot song for one of my choices next time and he did ditch one of his songs and sang one of Gordon's.
And now we have a string of sports losses.
