A bit chilly this morning, the sky looks gray and moist, a good breeze. Might get some rain later today.

Sun is shining and drying everything up, and the wind has picked up too, hope we get some more rain later.

🧵 More lunar eclipse info!

🔴 A total lunar eclipses is called a #BloodMoon because the Moon’s color during totality may appear red or orange. This isn’t technically an astronomical term though!

🌃 In #Chicago, the total eclipse begins at 4:16 am and will last until 5:41 am.

We have received 12" (30.5 cm) of #snow in the past 24 hours! We're expecting another 2-5" throughout the day today.

That puts us above average for our snowfall but below average for total precipitation (rain and snow).

I thought the rain was over but while the sun was shining we had a little cloudburst.

Now it is mostly blue skies.

The weather turned back home, right as we were leaving, and it finally started raining in earnest after a months-long drought. Now the temperature is going to dip below freezing next week for a week or more, and snow is possible. Back home is a place where it rarely freezes and rarely snows.

So far rainy, overcast, humid, warm here in South Texas.

Rained horribly last night. Today, not so bad. Light rain periodically and cloudy.

Another PERFECT day! November 3 and it's sunny and mid 70sF. This is not the November weather I remember during my childhood -- 50s, 60s. Back then COLD and snow would start for the winter season.

Well, Portland is at the front end of an atmospheric river today. It’s rainy and very windy right now. My sister, who lives on the Oregon Coast, said the rain is coming down in buckets there today. Those ‘buckets’ of rain are due in town tonight. The weekend will be extremely rainy through Sunday evening. It’s Oregon…. It rains here… and we need it.

Our NEXT storm, currently developing over Alaska, will drop drop into the northeast Pacific this weekend. Aided by a strong dip in the jet stream (more characteristic of January than November) it'll really gather steam on its Golden State approach. Mon/Tue looks stormy for SoCal!

NW Oregon is looking at 2-5 inches of rain through Sunday, depending on the location. Portland expects 2”. Oregon Coast will be almost 4”. Columbia Gorge is expecting +5”.

Glad to see CA is getting rain, but I’m headed to the Niner game at Levi’s later next week and I’d prefer a dry game. 😊

Actually, those Oregon numbers may just be for today, as Astoria, on the Oregon Coast is already approaching 4” of rain today.
