Donate CDs some place. They can go in trash here. They're not electronics.

LOL, I don't think any library would want them, they are 20 year old software programs. Was just hoping there was some "recycle" option like for the laptops.

Thanks everyone.

I always just put mine through the shredder and then tossed them...unless I was at work then I threw them in the recycle/confidential waste bins.

New Q: I think I want a fitbit, but I need to see how you work the screen and if the font and instructions are readable for me. I already tried one watch and couldn't figure out how to even change the modes.

So here is the question.... Is there someplace I can go to see them and try them out in person?

Thanks.

I’ve had one for years. It’s not perfect but I like it. I know where you could go to look at them in Canada but I don’t know for the U.S. Maybe a large sporting goods store?

Oh, I didn't think of a sporting goods store, we have a Dicks Sporting Goods that is pretty big. I will check their website.

Do you have a Best Buy nearby? I think they have them displayed.

Target, Kohls and Walmart carry fitbits.

Wow, I never knew. I haven't seen them at Target but it has been a long time since I was in there.

I have a friend who I think told me she can read text messages on her Fitbit. Does that sound possible?

I think there’s different levels of Fitbits.

You can read texts on the one I have. Quite a few of them work that way.

Fitbit has ones that look like watches (similar to the Apple Watch) and they have ones that are more fitness bands. I have the Charge 4 which is a fitness band because I also like wearing a regular watch and this way I wear both.

It’s a little hard to see the Charge 4 in bright sunlight. The newer version (the Charge 5) is more legible.

Some places that sell them only have facsimiles on display so you may want to find one that has the real thing so you can try it.

Lots of levels of Fitbit. Size matters to me as most formats of most trackers are way too big for my wrist.

I have no desire to get text messages on my wrist.

Who's familiar with USPS registered mail, return receipt. Paid $17.58 for the service. Was sent April 19 addressed to NYC zip 10272. Checked tracking today. Says, "Your item arrived at the NEW YORK, NY 10038 post office at 5:55 pm on April 27, 2022 and is ready for pickup." Zip where it's ready for pickup 10038 is not the zip it was addressed to - 10272. Very important piece of paper. So now what?

I think it will be okay, Colordeagua. Both of those zip codes are New York City. It is probably a large company with numerous divisions within The City. If you sent the registered mail to where you were told to send it, it would be like a million to one chance that the USPS would misdeliver it. Registered mail is historically a very big deal with the USPS.

Now I looked at tracking --

4/27 at 11:05 a.m. it was available for pickup NYC zip 10272
Later --
4/27 at 5:55 p.m. it was available for pickup NYC zip 10038

Today I'll stop at P.O. where I mailed it. I live near three P.O.s. Postmaster where I mailed it is the only one who has a clue what's going on re anything postal.

For me, sometimes tracking says "out for delivery" when it's really just going from the Kansas City PO to my local one. And then it will say "out for delivery" again when it really is going out for delivery from the local PO to my house.

Just now looked at tracking again. Delivered. / picked up. Got myself worried for no reason. I'm good at doing that. More and more lately feel like I'm aging. Don't like it. (My dog is 11. We are very close in age. He is YY (years young). I am YO (years old).

Just an FYI, from someone who ships hundreds of packages etc via the USPS... their tracking is often misleading and wrong. People expect it to be precise, and it should be, but it's not at least half the time I look things up.

I'll drop packages at my local post office and it will say "pending package acceptance" for three days, and on the fourth somehow it miraculously was delivered without ever being dropped off.

It's the post office. Sadly.

Do you ever go to start your car and the ignition key won't turn? And won't come out of the ignition either? That happened to me a couple of days ago and I've been worried ever since. But it hasn't happened any more. I did finally get it to go.

For me, I usually have to play with either the steering wheel, or the shifter, and then it works.

You may want to check your alternator.
