I agree with Texasdeb. Dark fruitcake is by far the best. šŸ‘šŸ˜€

Great Aunt Ethel's were dark and moist and as good as a fruitcake could be.

Another claim to fame.. She was the oldest living Eastern Star member in Indiana until she died.

She and Uncle Bill had lived on a farm for years but even aftr they moved into their house in New Castle, Indiana, Ethel kept cooking farm dinners. We would go and there would be multiple meat dishes, multiple desserts and multiple side dishes.. An ordinary Sunday dinner (at least with us visiting) outdid most Thanksgiving feasts. Crazy.

CHRISTMAS QUESTION!

While Christmas shopping for others, have you bought something for yourself, that you probably wouldn't have bought otherwise?

I was shopping on Amazon, looking for a bird caller that I saw in a magazine for my bil. As I was checking out the item, Amazon had (in the items you might be interested in) a crow caller.

Now, my mother and my aunt had crow feeders to throw leftover food in. A few years ago, my aunt said her crows disappeared for no reason. (Uh huh. There must be a reason.) And I recently moved to a new place and took my mother's crow feeder with me. (I guess for sentimental reasons.)

So, when I saw the crow caller, I bought 2. One for my aunt and one for me.

If it wasn't Christmas shopping, I never would have saw it. And if I did see it at any other time of year, I most likely would never have bought it.

Yes. Every year. I purposely buy myself something! This year a cute minnie mouse purse from Kohl's that I stumbled upon while shopping for my daughter. Plus some t-shirts that we can wear to Disneyland (Mickey for her, baby yoda for me). And matching red t-shirts that I ironed a mickey head rhinstone shape on. I wrap the presents to myself and label them from the pets. :-)

Not that I recall. I'm sure I probably have, but nothing that stands out.

HAhahaha, Absolutely! I keep a list of things I need/want so I can add to orders to get the free shipping, if I need to.

It's the opposite for me. Like I went shopping to buy some more of my favorite socks. They are oversized, thick, and tall, come in any color of the rainbow, and are so much more comfy than slippers. While buying myself a couple new pairs, I got some for the hard to shop people on my list.

eta: These are the socks love so much.

Cool! I hope you like them. It's 2 pair for $14.99, not just 1 pair.

No, but when shopping for Christmas gifts for my son's dog, I end up buying a lot more for my own. Woof.

I must admit, this year I actually bought myself some gifts. It was so tempting with all the sales I came across as I was online shopping for lots of other family members.

And Kar, I even bought my little doggie some gifts as I was shopping for Coconut, my son's rescue dog.

Morning works best for me unless I have a "special event" later in the day -

It used to be mornings, but now that I work 100% remote I've changed it to evenings.

If I'm washing my hair, earlier in the day. If not, then later. (Although I take baths and usually only take showers at pools and spas etc.)
