I am actually looking forward to a new one tonight " 9 Kittens of Christmas" on Hallmark. I am hoping it is a different take on Christmas movies ... only based on the title, LOL.

That's actually a sequel to a much loved Hallmark movie called "The Nine Lives of Christmas". :-)

OH my, the Mom for these 9 kittens was a hero! That is a huge litter, and she was very friendly with the Male kitties since you have an amazing amount of colorful kittens LOL.

haha, someone always says Die Hard

I forgot to say "Home Alone". I never miss this one every Christmas. I wish TBS played it all day long instead of "A Christmas Story".

LOL I have mixed feelings about Home Alone. In some respects I can’t help thinking it’s an awful movie but in other ways I do find it funny.

Dark ones full of dried fruit: yum
Pale ones full of glassy strange coloured pieces: not so yum

I like fruitcake but it has to be good fruitcake. My youngest DD is a great baker and makes a wonderful fruitcake.

(Well I'd probably eat a "bad" one too. )

You know, I don't know. I can't remember if I have ever really had any for sure.

Maybe I will keep an eye out to try some if anyone has it on the menu.

No thank you. Old bread with dried up pieces of fruit in it, yuck.

Please pass the Christmas cookies.

Love fruitcake, especially my Mom's. It is so good. And I have the recipe. We made it for my wedding 39 years ago. We cut it into slices, wrapped it and gave one to each guest. Tradition is a girl will dream about her husband to be if the slice is under her pillow.

My Great Aunt Ethel made quite a fruitcake! Dark and moist and I think she won prizes at the Indiana State Fair. So we would get one at Christmas.

A large fruitcake does last long time, just saying.

One year my mom sliced some of ours and then used cookie cutters to make fruitcake cookies that we took to some event.. Girl Scouts or something similar.

And it was a big hit. Apparently our Detroit neighbors didn't have Aunt Ethels making fruitcakes.

So they loved the cookies and mom sent them all home with people..

However, in general, I'm not real likely to choose the fruitcake. Even one with more rum.

Oh now that morphs to RUM BALLS. When I had my first real job at the county one of our co workers was quite the source of rum and bourbon balls .. and those were potent!! The County of Orange had no idea!

I'm kind of neutral about fruitcake, probably had some every Christmas of my youth. It doesn't taste awful, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get any. I don't have much interest in sweets anyway.

I would eat Fruitcake but I'd have a glass of Merlot in my hand to go with it.

I like a good dark fruitcake that is loaded with fruit. These tend to be a little on the expensive side but are worth it if you're going for a fruitcake. The cheaper ones tend to be light in color & are more cake than fruit. I don't really care for those. We usually buy one fruitcake a yr & it's usually around this time of yr. I've never tried baking one, have always purchased mine from the bakery or a company that is known for making good fruitcakes.
