I hate fireworks the way people use them around here almost as a way to see how many laws they can break and people and animals they can affect.

CTE is that brain damage that occurs from so much hitting trauma. It has caused some ball players to commit suicide and you hear in the news about football players who donate their brains to research on it.

The shame is it took so long to even acknowledge the dangers of head injuries and sports injuries and I remember going to an all day seminar maybe 10 years ago and the speakers showed how so many sports are as bad as football. Water polo is one.
My mom was ahead of her time in many ways and she always said she didn't want my brother to play football because of head injuries.
She even expressed this at a big dinner in Michigan where Ford execs were and she just happened to be seated next to the then Governor of Michigan, who was Gerald Ford, later to be President and even later to suffer from Alzheimer's.
She had no idea that HE had been a football player. Not sure she would have held back if she knew.. Not sure.

The life expectancy for football players is considerably lower than average. There is a lot of physical damage playing that game.
