Anyone ever buy one of these? Around $50? They work by misting, like a mini swamp cooler. Reviews on Amazon are pretty mixed.
DS's roommates are being stingy with the air conditioning, and he's having trouble sleeping at night, because it's so hot. So would just be for his bedroom, to add to the A/C and make it just a bit more comfortable.

As a general observation, swamp coolers work better in dry environments. So a swamp cooler would work well in hot dry desert conditions like in parts of California but not as well in areas with high humidity.

It's very dry in Colorado. Swamp coolers are popular here... but I'm just wondering if the mini room size ones actually work.
I did see a "redneck" (sorry) attachment... one that fits on top of a cooler full of ice, blows air in one end, and a vent for releasing cold air out the other. We use to make those ourselves!

Bill has a little one that works pretty well for just personal use. you can fill it with ice and makes it cooler. Bill said he would send you a message with the link

Kar... She hasn't used it yet. Says probably this weekend. She's hoping it makes her naps more pleasant on hot days. She'll let me know once she's tried it.

I don't know about that one Karuuna, I have wondered though. BUT ... I just got a new rechargeable table/floor fan That might be helpful.
It has good blowing air, I got it because it will work if we have a power outage. For a floor fan I wish it was a bit taller.
