A little trivia about my Brother's little fur babies:

They are actually his Grand fur babies. His daughter, my niece, brought them home.

The orange one's name is Chicken-Nugget, 8 months old.

The patchwork cat is Willow, 4 yrs and 2 months old.

Regular / dark brown. Definitely not gold.

Dark brown.

What is a "diamond" painting?

Kit, it's a craft where instead of paint, like paint by numbers, you use little sparkly half beads. I've made a bunch of them that I post in the RN thread, but I'll show a couple of my favs that I made here.

Kind of like a cross stitch map, but with shiny things then. They're really good, and must be great for gifts!

Show Kitt the parrots!! LOL!

I think I like the honey brown best, but only slightly more than the gold.

Juju, I made a HUGE bird painting for myself, and I am waiting for the frame. I'll show her that one. It's from the same real painting that the one I made for my Mom came from, but longer and taller with more of the branch. It's so big. Tracking says the bird frame comes Friday.

Naja, will it fit in the bathroom or are you building it its own separate wing (Oh, hahaha, unintended funny there)?

haha, it's going above the fireplace in the rec room. I've had a velvet painting of an old fashioned mill on a river up there for so long, that I am now retiring it to the garage.

Here's the huge bird one I made for myself. I just finished framing it. This one is really wide, including the frame it's just under 39 inches. It's going above the fireplace.

eta: I had to redo the faces on most of them to give them some definition. And for the big yellow bird in the middle, the shadow in the tail was traffic cone orange! I replaced it with more of a burnt orange and it looks normal now. I also replaced the street cone orange in the red bird's shoulder with more red. That orange was so awful that it ruined the painting for me and I had to get rid of it.

That's a hell of an accomplishment and a very nice picture. I love the pop of red.

Thanks!

Do any of our Canadian friends know if these curds from my grocery store would be acceptable to use for poutine?

Never made poutine but those look perfectly fine. Curious to see what others say.

I've made poutine on at least a few occasions and that would be great on poutine.

Thank you! I am going to give it a try. Since DH eats so little by mouth, I try to make something so yummy he can't refuse it.

The fries as hot as you can, the kind you like the best. Then put cheese on top, then rich brown, hot gravy over all, so the cheese gets melty. Eat carefully 'cause it's hot!

That's what I read. Make sure the fries and gravy are hot so they melt the curds. Got it. If they look pretty, I'll take a picture. I won't be making them until after the next next grocery pick-up.

Hecka, private messages go to your email that you used for signing up with this board. If you don't remember which email you use here, sign into your profile at the top of this page where it says "edit profile" and it's in there.

Nashville finally has a source of cheese curds! One of the restaurants now serves them, but it was a long dry spell after the small dairy in Murfreesboro where I use to buy them closed!
