Do you believe that engagement rings should be removed when you are in bed?

I take mine off at night. Fingers swell too much at night.

I take mine off. I have such a bad time with swollen fingers and wrists, I couldn't wear rings while sleeping. These days, I wear mine on a necklace because otherwise I'd lose it when my fingers aren't swollen. I take my necklace off at night because I'm a restless sleeper and would choke myself all night if I didn't, lol.

No. But I did not have an engagement ring. My wedding band was never off. (Until the marriage was off. 😮 )

My wife takes her rings off. I leave my wedding ring on all the time unless I'm doing something that could damage it.

Nowadays I only wear my engagement ring on special occasions. And except for a bath, I never take my wedding ring off.

I still wear my engagement ring and my wedding band, even though DH passed on Sept. 30. My engagement ring was my mother's that my father bought for her at a later date. I don't know if/when I will quit wearing them.

I don't regularly wear either ring. I always wore them when I worked so I could keep jerks of both criminals and cops from hitting on me. Then I began wearing them again when I started traveling the world, and for the same purpose as I wore them earlier. Now I once again do not ever wear them, as we live in a community where everybody knows everybody else's business, and I am almost always with Bigdog, and we act REALLY married all the time.

I don't know any reason why an engagement "should be" removed when one is in bed, unless their fingers swell at night. I never took mine off at night. I still wear my engagement ring, wedding band and dh's wedding band 16 months after his death. Same as Heckagirl, I don't know if/when I'll quit wearing them.

♡♡((Makkie))♡♡

I don't like sleeping with my engagement ring on in case I poke myself in the eye during the night.

I don't wear my rings at night. I have lost so much weight that wearing them at all is risky as they could easily fall off my finger.
We did buy some of those plastic coil things so the rings fit better. Hubby has lost quite a lot of weight but always wears his wedding band.

Sugar, both DH and I have a few wedding rings due to yoyo weights over the years.

I read that someone removed their engagement ring to protect the sheets.

It is what it is.

New Q: Do you wear 'proper nightwear' eg: pajamas, a nightgown, etc., (I don't) or do you wear jumbo tshirts (I usually do), or something else a bit unusual. For instance, lately I'm wearing old short summer dresses to bed because they are light and comfy.

Sometimes I wear "proper nightwear", sometimes a T-shirt and joggers, sometimes just a T-shirt and sometimes....nothing at all!! Depends on my mood and my temperature!

D. All of the above. LOL

I have regular pjs that I wear, also shorts and tank tops, and sometimes shorts and t-shirts.

Proper nightwear almost all the time. From now until whenever it warms up again, I'll be sleeping in flannel pjs.

Thanks for the explanation, Rosie. I was puzzled....not that uncommon an occurrence lately!

Sort of... my bottoms are true pj's but I usually wear them with a tank top. If it is cold then I wear the actual pj top they came with.

Summer, slip like Vera Wang nightgowns, fall, Lands End long sleeved long supine cotton gowns, winter, Vera Wang microfleece hoodies. When it is really cold one of the hoodies over a nightgown. Also have microfleece pajama pants.

I do not heat my home, so in winter, the fish hoodies keep my head warm.

These sleep hoodies would be great for Big Brother, as they block out any light.

Two answers:
Neither DH nor I have worn our wedding bands (nor my engagement ring) in years.

I sleep in shorts and Tee or tank top - or lounge pants w/same top. This summer on lock-down, if I didn't work out in them, the clothes I wore during the day I wore to bed.

Thanks everyBuddy! It's been interesting. I generally find jammies and long nightgowns too constrictive. But just assumed most people wore them. Good to know I'm not alone in the comfy teeshirt department.
