Teachers are very much brave heroes these days. I think it's unfair you're being forced to work f2f. Good luck. Stay safe.

Private schools are back in here, as are public schools in several surrounding counties. Nashville has provided thousands of laptops for students who get free meals and, I guess, others that teachers recommend as being needy. I expect to have my choice of laptops in pawn shops soon. If parents stay so looped out on alcohol or drugs that their second grader has to find breakfast for his younger siblings, that same parent is going to see this as manna from heaven for money to fuel his habit(s)!

I can well imagine that teenagers like you work with Teach are anxious to get back to their social lives at school! You sound like you have good precautions in place, so stay safe!!

I read an article which interviewed several doctors and they all said that the very few who should not wear masks for medical or psych reasons should not be out in public, period!

With claustrophobia or anxiety, people should start with shorter sessions while doing something pleasurable. Like a child wears a mask while watching a favorite video. Then work for more time.

Sounds like you have a good plan for the things you can control, teach, but the union needs to firm up the procedure and masks have to be 100%.

I agree if you have a medical condition that does not allow you to wear a mask, then you are too fragile to be out with no mask.

Yep! That is exactly what all of the doctors said.

Their are take cards claiming to be doctor certification of mask exemption.

There is also an official looking card that basically says the cake card is bs.

Here is the fake exemption card.

I am still bewildered about what the big deal is about wearing a mask? Medical personnel have routinely worn them for decades to protect themselves and their patients.

I have always felt that your rights end where my safety/welfare begins. This upcoming generation is so completely focused on the scale note "mi" that they appear completely oblivious of the fact that others in the world have rights as well. I am not sure how we have ended up here, but we need a regeneration in a new direction.

I go to a small coffee house up street (Orbis) for a hot vanilla chai latte.

I can really relax there.

For comfort food, its grilled cheese all the way

If it's a really bad day, I break out the collection of family recipes and choose something to bake. (In a way it's like having a visit from someone who has passed). Lifts my spirits every time

Chocolate cake with whippy frosting.

Or, hash brown potatoes fried crispy and topped with lots of melted cheese.

Triple Tuxedo Mousse Cake

But I have to watch intake of pistachios, so healthy, so good but calories add up.

And once a year or longer, McDonald's hash browns, well done.
