No matter your politics, the Bush marriage and the two of them as individuals were something we could all admire. My first thought was that he gets to be with his wife again!

That was his thought. And when she was dying, she was happy that she would be with the daughter who died so young. He will be buried with the two of them.

I live in Houston and belong to a FB group for my neighborhood area. It has been so fun reading accounts from people who worked on his campaign when they were in high school or knew from just being around the neighborhood. To a “T”, the comments have all been how decent, kind and approachable he was.

I’ve posted about him in N & V but it’s worth repeating that I think he was a good man and good President who served his country well.

As I posted elsewhere, I love that letter. It represents everything good in democracy and American politics. And the comments by President Clinton are a beautiful tribute from a one time political adversary and friend.

Ken Berry from Mama's Family and F-Troop died on December 1. He had a wonderful sense on humor.

I watch Mama's Family reruns almost every day.

Ken played a goofy part, but I liked him.

Wasn't he on the Andy Griffith show too, or Mayberry RFD?

Paul Sherwen, iconic commentator of the Tour de France, has died at 62. I have watched the Tour for decades, which means Paul has been the voice I relied on for almost all that time (he did commentary for 33 years). I could care less about the prime tine coverage - it was the live commentary by Paul and Phil every morning (EST) that I listened to. His voice carried around the world - not just in the USA ... I cannot imagine what it will be like this coming July.

I hadn't seen this posted anywhere.

Sondra Locke passed away from cancer last month on Nov 3.

I really liked her and enjoyed her acting. I liked her best in "Sudden Impact" with her then boyfriend Clint Eastwood. They did a few movies together, and her book sure doesn't paint a pretty picture of him.

The one I remember is "The Gauntlet". I think that's what it was called. Kind of ridiculous but an entertaining action flick for its time (at least when I watched it when I was young). Oh ya and "Sudden Impact" was Dirty Harry. I liked her too.

OMG, I am so shocked, I don't know why but I thought she was still too young. Had she been ill? Off to google.

Complications from diabetes.
