I wore them years ago when one pair was app. $200 - $300 from an optometrist. Got first free trial pair from my doc last week. Need a little change in correction in one eye. See him tomorrow. He doesn't sell / order them on a regular basis.

So what's better -- order on-line from where or get at B&M store like Target, drugstore, etc.? Do stores carry all prescriptions? I don't belong to Costco or Sam's Club.

They're also toric lenses for stigmatism if that makes a where-to-buy difference?

My wife used to order on-line from a discount reseller but told me just this weekend that Walgreen’s had somehow bought them out or took over their client list. She said the price looked about the same and was less expensive than our eye doctor but she found them for even less through Sam’s Club.

As I said, I am new to not getting a single pair that should last for year or two from the doctor. I thought you just go to a "drugstore" to buy them. Yet how could an average B&M store have all possible prescriptions. I guess not. Seeing doc tomorrow. Will ask if he can / will order them. If not -- on-line.

My soft contacts cost about $45 per box of 6. They are not the extended wear ones. I wear them for about 6-8 (keep them really clean). I've ordered them online (contacts direct), through the eye doctor and through a pharmacy. You still have to have a prescription from an eye doctor for any of those places.

When I first talked to my doc about them, he said one month and dispose lenses for app. $30 per pair. That's what I've been planning on expense-wise. More recently he said two weeks and dispose. I don't know if he meant they're made for two weeks' wear or one month's wear and he's saying dispose after two weeks. I see him tomorrow. Questions for him. My left lens prescription is very good. Probably need slight change in right.

I wore soft lenses years ago. (Quit due to presbyopia. Soft toric lenses aren't made with presbyopia correction. Now I've given into reading glasses with the contacts.) I also took very good care of them. Had ONE pair that I wore for six years. Doc finally said I needed change in prescription. She said lenses were still like new.

Saw doc today. Cannot get lenses through him. I don't belong to Costco or Sam's Club. Not convenient always. Walmart. I'm not a Walmart shopper and there's so much road construction around it. Do not want to get into that mess. So on-line -- either ContactsDirect or 1800Contacts. Any others? Recommendations?

He's prescribing 2 week disposable B&L lenses. But says if you don't wear them full time, wear them for a month. That's what he does.

No tweaking in the right lens. Less vision correction needed for left eye. Right is as good as he can make it. It's almost as good as left.

I used 1800contacts and had a good experience with them. One nice thing is that if your script changes before you run out of them, they'll take them back.
