My heart sank when today I ran across that Heather Menzies-Urich had passed away this last Christmas Eve. I had no idea! I searched the board and it wasn't mentioned.
She's the actress that played Louisa in "The Sound of Music" (and many other things). She was also married to Robert Urich and spent her life devoted to cancer research and helping cancer patients.

Damn, they are saying that she hung herself and left a suicide note. From everything I have heard today it is really odd that this happened.

She left a note telling her 13 year old daughter it was not her fault and used a scarf to hang herself from a doorknob.

She can tell her daughter it wasn't her fault, but she still left that young lady without a mother.

I wonder if her choice of words "It's not your fault" is appropriate.
If I were the daughter I would rather read "I love you and I will miss you."
Throwing in the word "fault" just brings it to mind.

wow, no respect for her at all. first she leaves her child motherless and then leaves a note that will/could damage the relationship with her dad, the only parent left. If she was mentally ill/depressed she was still in sound mind to blame her husband for her being dead. and what purpose was she trying to accomplish with the letter? to ruin her relationship with her dad.

im also pissed at the news for releasing this. they could have told the daughter there was no note although I dont know if that would be worse. so sad for her daughter

Bi polar is terrible. We have a woman at work with it and I dont think she even realizes when she is in her downer mood because when she goes back to her upper mood it's like the things she said and how she behaved the day before ever happened.
interesting that the family says the sister hasnt been around for 10 yrs. I wonder if that was by Kate's choice or her sisters

RIP Anthony Bourdain.
My heart is absolutely shredded over this dreadful news. If anyone seemed to have life by the balls it was Bourdain. Just goes to show you that depression can attack anyone anytime in a deadly manner.
