Our normal NYE tradition is a kid's party. Whoever wants to go out or have a party at home drops their kids off for the night and we do mostly munchie food (cheese & crackers, fruit and veggie trays, cookies,) and I might make a pot of chili. This year, no one is planning on going out of having a party (we might possibly be getting too old for that, lol) so kids weren't coming and I planned nothing.

Last minute, I've got four nieces wanting to come over just to hang out (along with Kota's boyfriend) so I'm scrambling with no plans. For NYE I'm just throwing together polish sausages and veggies and the kids can make up some fruit/veggie trays with what I have here. I think I've got a pack of cookie dough too. I did grab a couple bottles of sparkling cider for them.

New Year's Day I'm doing a roasted chicken.

Hubby and I are going out for dinner at the golf course just up the street from our home for 6 p.m. And then will head home for bubbly and to watch Elton John and Neil Young concerts we taped for the night.

We will watch the ball drop in Times square and then off to bed!

New Years Day will have a big breakfast and then munch the rest of the day. After that DIET lol!

Last minute NYE change of plans, instead of dinner and dancing at a jazz club, we're at home because hubby is sick. (I'm praying it's not the flu.) But it's not so bad, because we have each other, and lots of hot lemon tea and chicken soup, to ring in the New Year. Ah l'amour! ♡ We wish our friends and family lots of GOOD HEALTH, serenity, and happiness in 2018.

We did finger food - I made guac and hummus, and we had grapes at midnight. Tonight's dinner will be shrimp of some sort.

We didn’t even make it to midnight New Year’s Eve. Had a great spiral cut ham, scalloped potatoes, and cauliflower dinner. Watched a little TV and called it quits about 10:30 PM. Yesterday had round two of the ham and scalloped potatoes along with a shrimp cocktail earlier in the afternoon. Last year we were in Atlanta with our best friends but with their daughter literally fighting for her life with her leukemia we stayed home so they could focus on her. Mrs Mack is back to work today after 11 days off so wanted to keep it simple. Now just trying to get through this cold snap.

I went to dinner with friends, early, across the street, and we took our time, but even after a quick stop at Ralph's, I was home by 10.

Didn't watch any NY EVE tv.

New question:

Did you do any holiday clearance shopping? If so, what did you get?

I haven't done any. I did work out a deal for a new phone but that doesn't count as it certainly wasn't a clearance.

Yes and No. I bought a couple of things that were on my List that I didn't receive but they weren't really clearance shopping.

Yep

5 boxes of adorable Christmas cards from lang.com and one set of 200 led string Christmas lights, multi-color.
But my fav clearance purchase is this cute 4 ft tall lighted maple tree. I think it will look nice with my terracotta jack-o-lanterns sitting beneath it next October on my porch.
