We just bought a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne, which we may have tomorrow night. We are invited to the New Year's Eve party in one of the condo penthouses, and we have attended in years past, but I have this year decided to disengage from the hiprocisy of attending functions thrown by people I really don't care for and having to reciprocate and thus have people in MY abode who I feel I have to apologize for to the other attendees.

So, we have opted out and will celebrate quietly at home, perhaps with a lovely Bigdog-cooked dinner and the fancy French champagne.

Well, instead of the usual NYE's assortment of tasty appetizers that I usually make, Hubby has asked me to make my homemade pizza tonight. Thick chewy crust with Italian sausage, onions, mushrooms, black olives, fresh basil and lots of cheese.
Some dark beer to go with it, I'm all set.

LOL, sounds like a wise choice, Juju!

I had nothing special since I didn't get out to shop.. but I am not starving or anything :-)

We still have half hour to go here.

I've done exciting things like writing checks for bills, charging my cell, texting a patient about rides Tuesday and Friday and lots of cat on lap time.

New Question: Did you make any New Year's resolutions? If so, what are they?

LOL, she was wise to decide to stay home and have Bigdog cook, but also wise to change her mind and go for it and have fun. Win Win.

I did!
1) I will try to stay positive when dealing with negative situations.
2) I will try to always remind my loved ones how much they mean to me.
3) I will work at understanding my micro managing boss better (he's only been here since May 2016 & sometime, he just drives me nuts!)

Those are good ones for sure!

Mine are to maintain what I was able to do last year, control expenses more and continue decluttering.

No, I did not.

But for Texasdeb, here is what I did one time when I had a micro-managing boss (who was nowhere near as smart as me, but really not such a bad guy after all). Not sure how exactly I pulled it off, but I managed to somehow intercept things that would need to be handled. I would then write a note from him to me, telling me what to do. Then I would write a note from me to him telling him I had already handled it. And then I had another boss, same job, who I am not sure even looked at any of the stuff that came in for our team to handle. So I would just go collect all the miscellaneous items and take care of them so he wouldn't get fired. I had already badly berated a colleague of mine on another team, who had done the exact same thing for this guy when he was that guy's boss. I told my colleague, just don't do it, and let him get fired. And now I was doing the exact same thing. It, apparently, was the right thing to do. So, Texasdeb, your #3 is probably a step in the right direction.

Yes. I resolved to never buy anything green again. I'm tired of throwing out never opened bags of spinach, kale and lettuce.

Nah I don't usually make New Years resolutions. The closest I ever come is setting a goal for how many books I want to read in 2017, lol.

Survive the chemo and get on with my life. (shrug, not much of a resolution, more of an intention.)

New question: What is your "go to food" guilty pleasure?

Guilty pleasure...hmmm I'd have to say pizza or ice cream. I rarely have them but when I do, they are sinful

chips! I especially like doritoes (nacho cheese & ranch). I really like the kettle cooked bbq lays! I will eat chips as a meal sometime! I just love chips! I have to be careful when I go out to eat at a Mexican rest. because I will eat so much chips & salsa that I'm full when my meal comes.
