How the Game is Played
Here's an overview on how the game is played...

Each week, I post a Game Open Announcement, listing all the games being played that week in the NFL. You pick the winner of each game listed for that week, plus answer two Bonus Questions (that primarily serve as tie breakers).

Each correctly guessed game is worth 40 points.

Bonus Question #1 asks for a guess of the point spread of a particular game (usually the Sunday Night Game during the Regular Season), and is worth 15 points, minus the variance of your guess from the actual point spread. For instance, if you guessed the point spread to be 10 points, and the game ended at 21-14, the actual point spread is 7 points. Your guess was 3 points off of the actual spread, so you would get 12 points added to your score (15 possible points minus the 3 points you were off by in your guess).

Bonus Question #2 asks for you to guess the total points scored in a particular game (usually the Monday Night game), and is worth 25 points minus the variance of your guess to the actual total points scored in the game. For instance, if you guessed 40 as the total points scored, and the game ended at 21-14, the actual total points scored in that game is 35. Your guess would be off by 5, so you would get 20 points added to your score (25 possible points minus the 5 points you were off by in your guess).

SCORING

The score you get is a percentage of how many points you get compared to how many points were available that week. The available points depends on how many games were played that week. For instance, if there were 16 games played that week, the available points is 680 (40 X 16, plus the Bonus points available).

If you guessed 12 games correctly, you would get 480 points. And using the above Bonus Question examples, your total Bonus Question points would be 32. Your total points scored in that week would then be 512, which is 75.294 percent of the total available points for that week. Therefore, your score for that week is 75.294.

Beginning with the second week of the Regular Season, I start keeping a Season Average score/ranking for all regular players. The Season Average score is simply the average of each score you get each week. If you miss a week of play, and you don't use a BYE option, then you get a zero for that week, which is factored in to your Season Average score/rank.

USING A BYE WEEK

Every regular player has three BYE weeks allowed during the Regular Season (a BYE week is not available during the Post Season or Pre-Season). The BYE week will be automatically factored into your score if you are unable to submit your picks in time for whatever reason. In other words, you can't go back and declare a BYE week once you see your picks for the week really sucked.

The score you receive during your BYE week is as follows:

The first BYE will be worth 90% of the average score of everyone who submitted regular picks for the week.
The second BYE will be worth 85% of the average score of everyone who submitted regular picks for the week.
The third BYE will be worth 80% of the average score of everyone who submitted regular picks for the week.

PLAYING ON A TEAM

Each team is made up of three players. We take your individual score and average it with your two team mate's scores to get a Team score. You don't need to do anything different, just make your picks like normal.

Individual players are not required to play on a team. Its just an added feature to make things fun for those who want to do it.
