I remember Mocha.

She had an "Ask Mocha a Question" thread.

Looks good, Juju!

My cut is similar.. well except that my hair is naturally straight and she cuts it a bit longer.

got my hair cut yesterday and washed it when I got home.

Juju2bigdog is right - my hair shrunk but I still like it.

Pulls up a chair to hear Juju2bigdog tell why she was banned

LOL, I think she said something like, "It's only hair" and sent quite a few people into a tizzy.

Hahahahaha, Dipo is pretty much right. We had a poster (no idea who) come in and post in very dramatic language that it was pretty much the end of the world because a hairdresser had messed up her hair with a bad cut or something, not even anything really drastic. And I merely pointed out that we had people here who would give pretty much anything if a bad haircut was the worst of their problems, and it is JUST HAIR for goodness sake, and hair grows back. And she got really pissed off and stomped off the board perhaps forever, and so I got banned (okay, I didn't really get banned; it is like an inside TVCH board joke. But I probably really WILL get banned now.)

This is the hair thread now? HELP. I am 67. My hair person / stylist says too much hair coming out when I wash it. Yeah, it looks like a lot. Has for a while. I'm not bald though. Normal with age? She said take Biotin, 5000 mg. I'd never heard of it. Anyone here. Started it last Friday. Take a while to have noticeable affect. Anyone with hair loss problem?

Use sulfate free shampoo.

L'oreal makes one.

It really saves your hair and makes it shine.

Color, I started Biotin 6 weeks ago. I see my stylist tomorrow.

I had relatively fast weigh loss.

My doctor also did bloodwork to confirm it wasn't thyroid.

He also had me start Primrose Oil.

He says it is okay to up the biotin dose, as you just shed the excess.

BUT... I am taking a statin, lipitor, and biotin can interfere.. so I take the biotin in the morning, since one takes statins before bed.

I checked with a pharmacist, and she said as long as they are 2 hours apart.

I hadn't really noticed more hairs jumping off my head, but Peggy said she used fewer foils. I have always had lots of hairs and require more foils.. so she says as long as I don't keep losing, no problem.

Not sure if it will be too early to tell tomorrow or not.

My hairdresser isn't sold on the shampoos with biotin. Sarah m e with my doctor.

I will have to look at my shampoo for sulfates.

Hmm, I have noticed that my hair is thinner, and I stopped coloring it so I don't have a lot of body, maybe I should try the biotin, is that a supplement or vitamin type thing?

I am going to do a color on my hair about 5 days before my cruise just so I have more body and it will make my hair easier to style on the cruise, LOL.

It is a supplement, Dipo. I'm on 5000mcg and it is a nice tidy little gel thingy. The Primrose Oil is larger.

Seamonkey, please let me know how it goes with Biotin. It was three years ago that I lost 25 lbs. over app. 2 - 3 months. Have Kept it off. Wonder if that could have anything to do with it? I'm not any any prescription meds. Just take inexpensive multivitamin and vitamin D.

Dogdoc, Hmmm. Shampoo I've been using for a while, maybe kinda during hairloss time, does have sulfates in it. I will get different shampoo without. Maybe timing is app. right about that.

Shampoo I've been using for a while is Finesse. It has sulfates. I don't feel strongly at all about Finesse shampoo. But I do LOVE Finesse conditioner. (No sulfates in that.) Only one I'll use. Prior to Finesse shampoo, I think I'd used Clairol Herbal Essence for a while.

Something I found re Clairol shampoo says sulfates in that. I don't know? I'll get sulfate-free.

I have way too many bottles of my shampoo to ditch it but I've used it for years and only after losing 40 pounds did my hair stylist notice some change.. so hopefully the biotin will help.

Biotin is supposed to be good for skin and nails, and of course hair.
