Got Lightning Thief and watched it. It's a pretty fun movie. Nothing earth shattering, but worth a viewing.

GREEN ZONE -

If you were "ho hum" about Hurt Locker like I was, but you enjoy contemporary war flicks, then you'll like this one as I did. The story was believable enough to get intellectually involved in, and Matt Damon is likeable again. (after Steven's disaster Informant!)

Although political in nature, not anti-American like other Hollywood left agenda films.

Thanks for solid cinematic camera work in this and not confusing roller coaster hand held camera that doesn't have a particular purpose. Over used HLocker, lost it's impact.

Green Zone is a good second film to rent with Alice in Wonderland or something lighter in nature.

Watched Thirst yesterday. It's basically Open Water in the desert. It's ok.

I know this one is old, but a friend loaned it to me a bit ago and thought I would finally watch it. The Last King of Scotland was so good! I really need to read the book now!

The Losers is now released as well. I also got a European movie titled "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It's supposed to be very good. Haven't watched either one yet, though.

CWCoop if you liked Inglorious then watch Citroen And Flame. It is based on a true story in Denmark during WWII and is in Danish with English Subtitles however, it is so good!!!!!!!!! I just saw it tonight as one of our free movie channels had it on. I also got to watch Coco Avant Chanel which was the French movie about Coco Chanel's early life and that was good too. It was also subtitled. I will watch 9 sometime probably tomorrow as I have not seen it yet and it was also on the same free list of movies offered.

New on DVD -- a movie titled Helen staring Ashley Judd and Goran Visnjic. Haven't seen him since ER. I'd never heard of it. Seems to get pretty good reviews on IMDB and Netflix. It's now at the top of my queue.

My 14 yr old dd and I are just addicted to Tyler Perry. Diary is one of my faves, my dd loves Madea goes to jail. Just rented WDIGM2 off itunes, will watch it this weekend. When you are caught up on the movies you can also buy his stage productions on DVD.

City Island was new on DVD on Aug. 24. I enjoyed it. Didn't know there really is a City Island within the Bronx. Stars Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies. Julianna didn't do so well with the accent. When it was there, it was good. (Sounded good to me anyways.) But she would drift in and out of it and just plain lose it often enough. Still good movie.

I loved that one too!! I am still trying to track down a copy of the title song, Blige did an incredible job with it.

Finally watched "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". It is a Swedish movie, subtitled. It's a really good mystery movie, with some hard edge scenes mixed in. Definitely worth anyone's time who likes the mystery genre and can take a hard R rating.

I need to watch it. I loved the books.

We watched Cop Out tonight. Some very funny lines, not the best but not bad. Bruce Willis has got to have the sexiest voice ever!

I saw it as well and found it a disappointing film. Not nearly as funny as The Hangover or some of those other films of late.

"The Girl Who Played With Fire" is out on DVD now. IMO, not as good as it's predecessor, but still worth the rental/purchase. You find out more about Lisbeth, and you realize that Mikael is completely loyal to her.

I am now anxiously awaiting the movie "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest".

Don't really care about the American remakes.
