We liked. Yesterday. The singing was good, there were amusing moments. All in all, not a bad evening out.

Just saw Bohemian Rhapsody. Really good/great film. Sad to realize how long ago he died. My sister is an artist. She used to do lots of airbrush paintings on vans and t-shirts. She did a painting of Freddy in his heyday. Really good.

Did he sing? Well-deserved Oscar.

Rami Malek did little to no singing in the film from interviews I saw. I seem to recall they used recordings of Freddie Mercury and a gentleman from Canada who sang very much like Freddie M.

Yeah, I looked it up. They said it was pretty much a combination of Rami, mostly Freddy, and a little bit of that other guy.

She does have pictures of some of her work. Wish I could post her painting of Freddy. It's really good.

I just saw "Rocketman". It was good, but it's not anything I thought it would be. I didn't realize it was a "musical" in the classic sense. The kind where the actors break into song. I thought it was going to a biography/drama. I still liked it. Not loved, though.

Thanks for the review. I love Elton John’s music and I was curious about the movie.

I’ve tried watching the series and couldn’t get into it. Admittedly I only watched the first episode. I didn’t realize there was a movie too. I’d like to see a movie. My husband hates going to the movie theater but I brought up the movie Hustlers. He said he’d probably go. I figure J LO and strippers would do it.

I saw Downton Abbey last night. I was disappointed because I thought it was just ok. I couldn't get emotionally involved to anything in it.

Oh, well.

I enjoyed Downton Abbey movie. To me it was just an extended episode. I felt emotionally connected to at least 2 story lines. I think many will expect the movie to be more than it is -- for me it was revisiting characters I love and miss. It mostly reminded me how much I miss them.

I saw Downtown Abbey yesterday and loved it. I guess I'm just enthralled with the show and the characters. Without giving spoilers, I especially enjoyed the story lines for Tom Branson (Allen Leech), Anna (the always excellent Joanne Froggatt), and Violet (Maggie Smith who is in another stratosphere).

I'm just finishing up the series Downtown Abbey and look forward to the movie. I realize it will be very much like the parody SNL did of it but I am just fine with that. I love the settings and the way people were civil and worked things out with reason. Times were changing and many realized the need to educate themselves and adapt. I already miss it.

I just ordered the new Lion King movie, 2019. In the past, I always had to make sure I got the regular dvd copy. Apparently they have changed it. They said the blu-ray copy will also work in the regular dvd player now. About time!

I’ve been watching Rocketman. It’s taken three days so I must not like it as much as you Heckagirl. It’s OK. Is the boy that plays young Reggie the same kid ( Mark) on The Connors?

No, I looked it up. Young Reggie was played by Matthew Illesley. Older Reggie was played by Kit Conner. Mark is played by Ames McNamara.

Btw, imdb.com calls the movie a musical fantasy.

Finally saw Yesterday. It was pretty good. An alternate universe. The Beatles really were the best band ever.

I thought it was a very fun movie. Great music (of course), good singing and performance by the main actor and a fun premise.
