I had a feeling it would get to you Joyce, Yea' I had a rough time with the heaviness.

Yea, that interaction with his Dad after all those yrs of 'only wanting his love' something as simple as a hug', then seeing those little kids hanging all over was really the worst, also when he told Elton to sign the album to someone else...I kind of lost it.

The Moms words' going circles in his mind, (Know one will ever love you) I yi yi...

Thanks guys for giving me your views.

I guess my question is:

Is it an enjoyable movie? I'm not asking if it is good. I'm asking if it is enjoyable? Is it something that you are glad you went to see?

It's very good. Shocking. Sad. Thought provoking. Although some scenes have a genuine psychedelic vibe, it's not a fluffy film by any stretch. The damaging rejection and toxicity from his family was not something he was able to escape most of his life, even through drugs, sex, fame, fortune, and rock and roll.

As he was the producer of the film, he made sure we basically swim in his painful memories. Nobody enjoys a good empathetic sob-session than I do, but I still would have liked to see more of a balance, more of his joyful experiences, of which I am sure there were many.

I was trying to decide if I wanted to see it. It’s my bday today and I never see a movie at the theater. I guess I’d rather see something more uplifting. Or maybe something campy. Were his parents in accepting of his sexuality?

LC, they held him in such complete disdain that had he given them a lifesaving kidney it wouldn't have changed their opinion or behavior. And that was before he 'came out'.

It is a wonderful film, and if you don't see it on your b'day, I do hope you see it soon.

Not going to comment on it anymore as I don't want to 'spoil' it too much. Go see it, :-) and let us know your thoughts.
