I think the books helped me a lot, too, with keeping all the characters straight (or most of them anyway). There are just so many characters! And all the family houses to keep straight! Ay yi yi!!!

I'm in the middle of the third book. My problem is I have to keep going back to remember what happened in the other books and all the characters' names! So many!!!

Plus a kind heart. He's been an outsider within his own family his whole life, so I think it's taught him compassion for others. Love him!

Wow, that was a unique way of killing someone without spilling blood!

Pretty nasty! Did anyone go to HBOgo.com and watch next week's episode? I think I would just rather wait till it's on my TV. Why would I want to watch it on a tiny laptop screen when I can watch it in HD on my 50 inch flatscreen?! Just not appealing.

I'm hating Sansa more and more. What a little snot!

I love Tyrion too! and Dani,Arya,Jon and this story and my kindle and...and... lol

I am on the 3rd book! My DH, DS and DD have already finished book 4 so we can only discuss up to where I am at currently.

Babyjax, do you notice have your feelings change toward some characters in the 3rd book?

Like who, Denecee? If you mean Tyrion, I've loved him all along. I'm only about 1/2way thru the 3rd book. Not sure what's going on with Jon.

Yeah, I agree about Jaime, but haven't gotten there with Sandor (The Hound) Clegane. I kind of feel sorry for him at times, but still can't say I like him.

New episode tonight!

I did, but only because I could watch it on my iPad. I'll watch it again on TV.

Okay, Denecee, I'm seeing what you're talking about. Seems the farther you get into the books, the more you see different sides of the characters. What a writer!

Just watched Sunday night's episode. Poor Ned's in deep doo doo. And ack!!!! More full frontal of the male variety. Ick!!

There's just so much more to the books, which is understandable. I think the series is doing a great job sticking to the story and the spirit of the books. Even some of the dialog is the same.

Did anyone see the symbolism of daddy Lannister butchering the stag?

The Lannister Lion beating the king's symbol (the Stag). Wonder how the Wolf (Stark family) will fair against the Lion.

Doh! Thanks for that clarification, Konamouse. Sometimes I miss the subtle stuff. I just thought it was really gross! I wish someone would butcher that awful Nellie Olson doppleganger, Joffrey. What a vile, insufferable brat!

My dear husband looked at the above pictures and wondered if the actor who plays Joffery could be a son or other relative of the actress who played Nellie??

wow... the resemblance is amazing...

They also had several of Prince Charming vs. Jaime Lannister. Uncanny!

Still so sorry about the Nellie/Joffrey pic above. If I could fix it I would. Mods? Please?
