JJ showed up in, I believe, episode 2 or 3. I know for sure she wasn't in the first one...it was Hotch, Gideon, Reid, and Morgan. Elle was working with the FBI and on that first case they worked and somehow knew Morgan (think he was teaching a class she was in or something?) and asked his advice on getting the job with BAU. Garcia was in the first episode briefly. Then JJ was in the 2nd or 3rd episode, I remember her walking in and introducing herself to Elle.

They've repeated the first episode 3 times over the last month on ION, lol. I was hoping it meant they were going to start from the beginning, but then they showed the second or third episode once and went back to jumping between the ones they've been showing.

Thanks Mictay! I was having a serious duh moment there, kept thinking the other channeln is channel 57 but blanking on the station, lol.

Did anyone watch the show tonight? It left me in happy and sad tears.

I just found this show when we moved in October. My husband is ready to ban me from it. Between my cousin getting robbed and the CM episode with the cats [not sure if it is a recent on or an old one as I've become a CM junkie] I refuse to take the dog out after dark and refuse to answer the door no matter what time of day or night it is. Heaven help me when he's gone on travel next month. I can see myself moving the litter box into our bedroom and trapping the kitties in there with me and the pupdog as soon as it gets dark outside. WITH lights and TV on downstairs. lol

I watched it tonight Lexie but was also posting on FB so might have missed bits and pieces. I couldn't figure out what they were taking these kids for. Were they sexual predators? I thought not as they had both boys and girls there. Very sad about the one boy.

Serate, I'm also a CM junkie and have been catching up on both ION and A&E but I haven't seen the one with the cats. Was there a feline serial killer? When did you catch that episode?

Yeah I don't remember a cat one either. Serate, I cannot watch this show when I am alone. I would recommend you take a break when your hubby is gone.

I couldn't figure out tonight's story either. It seemed to have a combination of elements of real news stories like that girl that was forced to have her abducter's babies and he had her for years.

I cried at the end too. It was very disturbing. I remember someone here once posted that her daughter went missing years ago. She told a lot about her ordeal. It was heart wrenching. Made me want to do something but I didn't know what.

I enjoyed this episode, but now that you mention it, you're right, they never really provided us with a motive for why they were kidnapping the kids. That's odd because Criminal Minds is usually really good about filling the blanks.

On a lighter note, I noticed Garcia has changed her hair color from blond to red. I'm not sure that I like the red color on her, or maybe I just didn't like the odd color lipstick she was wearing with it that threw the look off. The two colors together were such an odd combination.

I never watch this show at night, it scares me, but I love it. I tape it so I can watch it on Saturday mornings, and then watch a cartoon after, if it scares the pants off me, LOL,

Like I said I'm not sure when the cat episode was filmed. Have a bunch on TiVo that we were watching. I did watch it last week sometime but that doesn't help ya'll.

The Unsubs used a dead cat in order to get into a family's home. [One of the Unsubs worked in at a humane society, and used cats he put down.] Asked whomever answered the door if the cat was theirs & how sorry he was the cat just ran out in front of him. Unsubs used a cell phone blocker so the victim's cell wouldn't work when offered to use to call somebody. Victim then let Unsubs in to use the house phone, which unsubs had already cut line. They brutally killed the adults in the household and "humanely" killed the kids with drugs.

Unsubs took turns in choosing their victims. I think it was "practice" for them going back to kill their foster parents who abused them, and all kids in their care.

So the episode wasn't really about cats but I guess I just pulled that out as what stood out the most to me. As terrible as it sounds, I guess I was more upset about the cats than the people who were murdered. For some reason I can't handle animals getting hurt or dying on shows, even when I know it's just a show.

OK, now I know which episode you were talking about.

I'm still trying to figure out what those two were doing with the kids they kidnapped on Wed's episode!

Holly, maybe because they couldn't procreate they were kidnapping children just to have a warped type of family? LOL, I don't know, it's the only thing I can think of. At first I thought it was for child pornography to take pictures and post on the internet, but Charlie turned out to be a victim too and was taking pics for evidence, so I'm just left with the barren woman seeks family theory.

If 10 kids were kidnapped, I guess several of them must have suffered the same fate as that poor kid put in the furnace did, as there were only 3 saved. I really felt for his parents, knowing he had been alive until the previous day. Dammmm!

I know, that was so sad! I think they'd almost have preferred not knowing that.

Yes, I also assumed the other kids were cremated and sprinkled on the roses.

I couldn't get over how much Charlie's mom sounded like Joan Cusack but it obviously wasn't her so I checked it out at imdb.com and sure enough it was sister Ann. I have seen her in other shows but always as a blond. Amazing how distinctive that voice is and how similiar btn the sisters.

My impression was they were probably sexually abusing the children. When the adults came into the room when the older girl had just agreed to stay with the younger girl, the older girl pleaded with the adults to take her instead and not to hurt the younger girl. Then, except for Charlie, when the children went into puberty, they killed them. (I draw that inference from what Charlie's mother said early on to JJ, what she had learned while studying, about gender crossover of pre-pubescent victims; doesn't matter much if they are boys or girls)

Oh how could I forget that one. I was ready to boil the unsub in oil because I thought he hurt the cat.

I tend to be a bit numb to human suffering, too. I blame TV a little bit. But hurt an animal and I blubber.

I just watched Defiance last week and I was really sobbing over the horse.

That makes sense, Juju. I must have missed that bit when Charlie's mom talked about gender crossover. (I was too involved on FB at the same time it was on.) I did see the scene with the older girl, begging them to take her which made me think it was a sexual thing.

Usually CM is great at covering every detail; in fact, sometimes they're over the top with each team member adding their two cents in an unnatural way, so this was very uncharacteristically vague.

I agree Holly it was uncharacteristically vague.

I thought the older girl was begging for them to take her because they got off on physically abusing them, not sexually abusing them. However, that could have just been my mind opting for the lesser of the 2 evils.

Holly, that was absolutely heartwrenching when the parents found out their son was alive until the day before.

This was a powerful episode. Anytime kids are the focal point, it's more emotional. And the fact that the kids they killed were probably burned alive...it's more gut wrenching than a Dexter episode....love this show, sometimes hate the content
