I've caught the show every now and then... but finally decided to commit to watching in the mornings on Lifetime. I can usually sit and watch 1 and record the others to view later. I started watching what ended to be the last 10-ish episodes that Brenda is in... then S1:E1 started so I am sooo happy I didn't have to wait to start watching from the beginning.
Very much enjoying it. Plus the spin-off is still airing... correct?

No, Major Crimes aired from 2012 to 2018. It was not as good as The Closer IMO but not bad.

LOL... just watched a Season 1 episode where Brenda's cat had kittens (she thought the cat was a "he"... lol)... she's tied up with a case (as usual) so Fritz (love him) goes to the emergency vet to bring them home. When she sees them, which i presume is that night or the next day the kitties already have their eyes opened and are running around! LOL
Also Brenda couldn't believe the emergency vet bill amount of ~$250.00. I had to take one of my cats from the vet to the emergency vet in my town so she could be monitored overnight... I had to have a down payment of $1600...

LOL, I think even back then, the price would have been higher, hahahaha, and it is funny that the kittens are half grown.
This show is very entertaining. I recently saw the one where Provenza / Flynn go to the baseball game instead of reporting the dead girl in his garage, LMAO, that was a funny one.

The Pilot is airing tonight on Lifetime at 10pm; they are probably starting to rerun the series if you are interested in seeing it from the beginning.

If anybody has HBO, then you also have free HBO Max included. From HBO Max, you can watch all season commercial free.
I was about to start the pilot episode from my recording since I have never seen The Closer, and on a hunch I decided to check. And there it was.

Wow, if I had know this show was so I good, I would have watched it back when. I'm almost done with season 1.
So, someone who has watched it all, does it stay this good in the seasons ahead of me?

In my humble opinion, it stays this good right through Major Crimes which is the spin off series when Kyra Sedgewick leaves and Mary McDonnell takes over.

I agree, you must watch Major Crimes after you are done with Closer. You will miss Brenda Lee for a couple eps then you wont really miss her at all.
Speaking of Kyra...her new sitcom Call your Mom is pretty good!

I'm almost done with season 5, and IMO it's the best season so for. What's weird is how hard they try to make us hate Mary McDonnell, yet you say she is the one who takes over the new show in a couple years. Weird.
I loved the episodes with Brenda's niece, and I cried about: Spoiler

As a matter of a fact, the ep I just started has "Joel". I was expecting him to show up eventually
I love this show. I only put a spoiler box since I'm not the only one just seeing it for the first time, and it's such a fun surprise.
