There is hope...
The cancellation reportedly came as Minx was on the verge of wrapping production on its second season, and producer Lionsgate Television has indicated it will be looking for a new home for the show.
Why wouldn't they just drop the second season if it was done?

I'm not surprised about Carnival Row. I love that show and I got to preview the first 3 eps of the final season and it stunk. That was many months ago and I hope they re-did the whole thing.

So Help Me Todd, Ghosts, The Conners, The Wonder Years, Call Me Kat on network TV are the only sitcoms I watch.
I am already half expecting them to cancel Kat. It was barely hanging in there already, then Leslie Jordan passed. Wonder Years is delayed until summer 2023. Now Todd is in jeopardy. The Conners is getting somewhat stale. At least I get Ghosts lol

It jumped the shark when they got rid of the boyfriend and had her with Max. They have 0 chemistry. Conners have overstayed their welcome

I missed the one for Fox:
All figures look low compared to other networks, but Call Me Kat is really low, and down 33% over last season. The Resident and Cleaning Lady aren't faring well either.

I just read that Call Me Kat, when returning from hiatus after Leslie Jordan passing, will address his absence by saying he is on vacation. They decided to use his new boyfriend on the show as the reason he takes off. They plan to keep him alive on the show. They want to give his character his "happily ever after".
Because the Cafe now needs a baker...his mother, Vicki Lawrence, will fill in for him. They plan to have a different actor filling in every week. Thereby giving them the chance to find out what works with the cast.
So far Kat has not been renewed or canceled. They are hoping to find someone that creates the right magic to be renewed. I wish them luck

I don’t really find the show funny but I never missed an episode bc of Mayim and Leslie. The other secondary actors are pretty terrible. I think rotating people in is a good idea.

Ditto. I don't find it particularly funny either.
But I am a big Mayim fan. I may not always agree with her opinions and beliefs (attachment parenting, um, no.) but she is fascinating.
I like the boyfriend/songwriter on the show.
But the actress who plays her mother is soooo miscast.

I loved Pushing Daisies at tbe time. But don't remember the cast.
She's too gaunt and looks horrible. Too much plastic surgery perhaps? For me, it's distracting among other things. I just dont enjoy her. Absolutely unbelievable as Kat's mother.
IMHO, the woman who plays Sheldon's Memaw on Young Sheldon, with her natural look, and balance of snark and softness, would be a perfect fit.
