I really don't have sandwiches at home. No bread, for one thing. But when I did I used avocado for that function.

I grew up with butter for sandwiches. The Miracle Whip went in tuna salad type things.

My mother was Australian. Australians put butter on both (in) sides of the sandwich. And yes, Miracle Whip was for things like tuna salad to help things stick together. One would not put mayo or Miracle Whip, same thing, in a sandwich.

Mayo or miracle whip or honey mustard on deli sandwiches. Hubby likes dijon mustard on his.

I can't imagine a BLT without mayo.

No mayo, and we don't add anything as we haven't eaten sandwiches in YEARS. As we are doing a state recipe a week, we DID have a Philly Cheesesteak last week (made with Venison steaks), but it just toasted the bun w/garlic butter and then cheese melts on the meat. Once or twice a summer we'll do whisky bacon cheeseburgers, but again - they're topped with caramelized onions so between that the bacon and the cheese, no other condiments should be used!

My sister loves the onion jam I sent her. I thought it was basically just carmelized onions that could be used in cooking or to put on a steak....but it was actually JAM jam like strawberry jam except with onions instead of strawberries. She also said it was delicious!

I'd be game to try it SFJF. I can picture it on toast with bacon and eggs.

I don't put butter on BLT's, but not mayo either. I just eat them plain on toast, and the tomato sort of makes a condiment of itself when chewed.

Same, Juju - BLT = Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato on the bread - nothing else!

And yes- adding 1/4 C whisky to 1# burger does indeed make it better! Then adding the best bacon our butcher makes, smoked gouda, and the caramelized onions....well, let's just say we have no regrets when we make them even though we eat pescatarian/vegetarian 95% of the time! LOL

I just like the best possible ground beef, rare, good call the extra fat stuff.. caramelized onions, tomatoes.

Grill the bun.. No mayo, no butter.

I might do this every two years or so.

At least half an avocado on the side.

I'm a mayo girl, too. Can't stand Miracle Whip. Too much sugar!!!

My son is a very picky eater and has just recently discovered mustard! He still likes a thin layer of mayo on his sammies.

I’ll try to figure that out between now and then. It may be impossible because I have poor service out here. I’ve been staying away from heavy issues so haven’t been on News and Views and therefore haven’t really checked in Here at all. I’d love to put faces to names And catch up.

Hahahahahahaha, I am watching a show on PBS, All Gardens Great and Small, clearly there is an audio problem because they all sound like they have been breathing helium.

It is making the show funny as well as good.

Dipo, I just saw that Miranda Hart is in that with her real life mother. I'm going to see if I can find it on Amazon Prime.

Well the second show they had corrected the audio problem and I don't know if it was just my local channel or the show, but it was funny to listen and watch.
