I wasn't keen on the last season either. Disappointing as I'd finally persuaded my husband to watch it with me.

The last season of the Sinner kept me interested but it was just so dark it left me with a bad feeling. I don't think I will try it again.

There was an interview with Tom Bergeron a little while back where he said the next season was meant to be in the fall (and I saw ABC still have it on their schedule for the fall), but he sounded like he didn't think it likely it would be back in September as usual.
It probably makes sense for them to leave it until Spring, it's not exactly a low contact event.

Hi Jimmer. It debuted in June 2005, (thanks Wiki!) and I thought it ran twice a year some years. Now I'm not sure.

I think it used to run twice a year. They used to squeeze it in after the Bachelor in the spring, but they stopped doing that a couple of years ago, cause people were complaining about the rushed season.

Thanks for posting that link, Kitt. Sounds like there will be a dearth of new shows this summer, and possibly this fall also. We're looking for series on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu.
