The "present day" stories all suck. They are all miserable and/or stressed. The only happy stories that are any fun anymore are the ones from the past when they were kids with Jack.

Though I did enjoy seeing Sophie again. I just find the fact that Kevin left her so frustrating because they do such wonderful cute backstories with her.

Randall majorly blew it..

And I I take back about his job being not full time, if Beth is correct that he has a 3 hour commute each way!

I don't think it's normally a 3 hour commute each way. Beth got stuck in traffic, so it took her 3 hours to get to the dinner. Don't think it's usually that long.

I knew Randall was screwed as soon as he left that phone message. But then I was also angry with Beth that she had committed to attend the dinner with Randall and then decided it was more important to her to have drinks with her friends. I think her co-workers would have all understood if she'd told them she had a previous commitment with her spouse, but she'd love to go out with them another time.

Ugh. They're all so miserable now.

But Beth mentioned him being in traffic 3 hours .. Maybe she meant per day not one way.

I was thinking about city council here. They live in the same city so there is no commuting.

I guess Randall qualified because he owns the building in that city, where he doesn't live.

Next episode is supposed to be Beth and Randall's story.

The writer of this article feels the same way about Randall being a city councilman (in a district where he doesn't even live) as the rest of us do. Why are the writers of this show ruining Randall and Beth's perfect relationship? It's frustrating!

Was that the season finale? I couldn't even find out on IMDB.com.

Great episode.

Future.. Rebecca seems to have Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, Miguel there but aged too. Rebecca seems to live in a room in a big house that might belong to Kevin.

Toby mentioned Jack, but where was Kate.

I feel like I was hungry jumping through the years, for sure.

Kevin has a son, I think.

Whoa! Nicky, not Miguel!

That is Kevin's house.

Toby may not be with Kate.

Randall not wearing a ring, but Beth is..

And yes it is the season finale.

I thought she was probably in hospice, which is why they were all gathered together, maybe to say their goodbyes.
No Annie (Randall’s daughter that doesn’t have many lines) no Kate, no Miguel, though.

Kudos to the makeup department. When they showed Rebecca's hands, I lost it. It looked just like my mom when she was lying in her bed near the end.

Apparently, Toby had not been to Kevin's house, due to his comment about it.

My bet is that Kevin took Nicky under his wing to help him get sober and deal with his demons. I also think, or want to think, that 'future' Kevin is now the 'George Clooney' of his industry. Since they didn't show him, I can think that.

Kevin's son looked like a younger Kevin.
