He married Leery (I know it's a complicated spelling) to be a father to the girls. Btw, don't remember their names either.

Marsali and Joanie - Marsali has a rather large role in later books, and Joanie is part of one of the more recent novellas, "The Space Between."
I actually liked the TV show better with regard to his motivation for marrying. Being a father makes much more sense than going to Leghair (spelling/shmelling). In the book he didn't know her role in the witch trials, but it still seemed far-fetched. The show made it as believable as it was ever going to get.

In the books, his sister Jenny talked him into marrying Laoghaire. She didn't think it was good for him to mourn Claire and be alone for the rest of his life. He did it to make her happy. I could see how he could have given in to his sister's pressure.

Loved the new beginning -- 1) turtle soup scene!!! and 2) no more Geneva laces! The island drums were fantastic.
Loved, loved, loved this episode.

I can't believe only two episodes left! Seems like there is almost always an obligatory sex scene. The priest and the coconut made me think of Tom Hanks with Wilson in Castaway. Was funny when the priest was questioning the bride and groom.
When the men were discussing how Jamie's wife just seems to show up out of thin air, I was like IKR?

It's official. The Chinese guy is my favorite character. I always just want to reach through the screen and give him such a squishy hug cuz he's such a great friend to Claire Jamie, clever and a charmer to boot. .If they ever kill him off I'm going to be seriously pissed. PS do not spoil for me if that's the case. I'll be too depressed thinking about it.

Loved it from beginning to end!
Season 4 will most likely be out by Sept. next fall (not as long of a wait this time) since they don't have to move production to South Africa this year.

It seems like it gets more complicated with having to deal with slavery this year. Love the plantation. It's gorgeous.
