I completely agree about Line of Duty (haven't seen the other two). I have really enjoyed every season. You get sucked right in each time. Hulu has all four seasons as well. :-)

Loved Line of Duty!!

A Place to Call Home is also phenomenal - Post WWII in Australia and deals with so many issues. Binged 3 seasons (13 eps of 1 hour each) in ONE WEEK while also working 50 hours at school!

Vera is good, but Wallander is my favorite as far as detective series goes.

Any Human Heart is another oldie but goodie.

Acorn through Amazon Prime is my most watched subscription service this summer.

Another good site for British shows is BritBox. They even have classic Doctor Who.

Dang you all!
Couldn't sleep last night so decided to watch just a bit of tv. Started Line of Duty and really wanted to binge watch but I have a job interview this am and had to stop after the first episode, it was nearly 4:00 am. I should have gone for a quick comedy but did not.
Will definitely be watching more episodes today, if I can stay awake after (and during) my interview.

Nodded off during the 2nd episode, have some Coca-Cola and going to try again. I only found Line of Duty on Hull so I have ads which is annoying but I am liking the show so far.

Did manage to stay awake during the my interview.

IF you can find Striking out, only one season on line so far. Do -- it is so good.

I will check out a place to call home.

One show I haven't seen mentioned is The Detectorists. It's a low key comedy about a group of people who have a metal detecting club.

I also watched the movie Complicit. It was interesting because at the time 45's travel ban had just started. It's about an English spy and where do you draw the line when it comes to following the law and the potential of a terrorist act.

I discovered "Grantchester" while browsing through the Amazon Prime offerings. Oh my goodness. I have to wear a bib to catch all the drooling I find myself doing whenever James Norton is on screen. Just a fabulous show with a fabulously handsome lead actor!

So glad you liked A Place to Call Home, Jasper and Maris. It's definitely one of my favorites! After binging 2 seasons of Line of Duty, I'm trying to decide if I should pay for season 3 or just give it time. I still haven't caught up on Stranger Things or Preacher!

Argh! A 2 year wait for season 5 of Line of Duty.
I finished season 4 last night and don't want to wait 2 years because I am impatient for more of AC 12.

Saggl I watched A Place to Call Home on BBC Canada. It is an Aussie show. Grantchester is a PBS show. The ones Terolyn mentioned I have watched on a variety of stations. We have a couple in Ontario that show a lot of British programming. I have never seen Line of Duty, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for it.

Saggkl - I watch A Place to Call Home, Line of Duty, Shetland, etc. on the Acorn subscription through Amazon Prime. It's only $5 a month and is SO worth it!

I have Acorn tv. But I also signed up for PBS. It's $5 a month. I had to do it because I could never catch the shows I like (Great British Bake off, Granchester, etc) and my cable doesn't have PBS on demand.

The nice thing is that they have all the prior seasons of these shows and when they have a new season of a show, you can watch them all at once. You don't have to wait a week to see an episode. I got to binge watch Victoria when it was on.

Thanks guys. I have Amazon prime. Had it for years for shipping, before I knew about the tv.
