I wish this show got more press. I watched the prior season and absolutely loved it. Last night, I stumbled upon it. The show is just really good (keeps you guessing) and the actors are excellent.

I am a big fan. Glad the new season finally got here. Isn't the actor who plays Endeavour so very interesting? I like the Brit shows for their lack of running gun battles and chase scenes. The shows usually have so much content they don't have to worry how to pad out the allotted time with nonsense.

At about the hour mark I had to stop the DVR to decompress. I loved the slow build up to the ending. How are we ever going to wait for the new season to see how it all plays out? It was a marvelous episode.

Endeavor only has about 4-90 minute episodes a year. I can't wait until next year. To see the families waiting for a phone call was heartbreaking. The look on Morse in the jail cell and Thursday's skinny boss watching Morse being taken away was awesome.. he had no idea what was going on. The doctor's daughter learning her dreams were not dreams and acting on it. Down to the nuances of the guy who works with Morse having been abused at that home and giving the name of the missing child. Then, the 4 classmates with shovels beginning to dig for the body. Everything about the ending made me yell NO at the TV. I don't know if I can wait another year for this one....It is just soooo goood...

Agreed. I like it better than Sherlock, which is saying a lot!

I had the aarrgghh moment when it ended as well. Very good show. What a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to The Escape Artist and Poirot.

You have to love the British writers. Never a dull or wasted minute.

I just noticed season three is now airing in the UK. Hopefully PBS will air it soon. It's a great show.

I haven't watched this one yet but I DO love the British tv shows. I like that there's a real storyline and it doesn't depend upon crude innuendos, bad jokes, violence and senseless stories like they do here in the US. Will have to put this on my list of shows to watch.

American shows rely too heavily on chase scenes and skulking around in warehouses burning up time to fill the hour. The British give us good character-driven stories and don't need to pad the hour.

I understand this is a prequel to Inspector Morse - would it be better to watch Inspector Morse first, or can I start with Endeavour and then move on to Inspector Morse?

I don't think it really matters. Endeavour just shows how he came to be who he is.
I'd highly recommend Inspector Lewis as well. It's a spin off from Inspector Morse. And probably my fave of the bunch.
