I accidentally taped over last week's show so I am watching it now. It was so hard to watch the beginning where they retrieved the two downed officers. Brought back that horrible day when we lost and officer in Hayward.
But other than that the show is good.

I am still tired of the Rusty storyline. I can appreciate that they are giving him a story so he can stay in the show...but come on really....

My problem with the Rusty storyline is his use of imformation he gets while hanging around the office. Are they seriously going to let an 18 year old have that much access to ongoing investigations? He now walks around as if he has a right to see all the information, listen to interviews, stare at suspects/victims through windows, etc. It's mind boggling! Does that mean anyone can walk into an investigation room and say they're a journalist (without credentials) so they're entitled to see everything going on? He's NOT a journalist - he's a first semester college student! I keep waiting for one adult to remind him of that!
I LOVE this show but that is a huge pet peeve for me!

I don't mind Rusty's unusual access at all, mainly because I don't take this show too seriously. But also, he has been a main character on MC since episode 1, and I'd rather he had an unlikely storyline than a boring one.
As for my "I don't take it too seriously" comment, I remember years ago when Provenza and Finn found a dead body in Provenza's garage on their way to some big game where they had skybox tickets. Those two idiots left the body in the garage and decided to deal with it AFTER the game! It was hilarious! This did happen on The Closer, but Major Crimes is basically the same show with a different lead and more humor, so that episode still comes to mind when I see them do silly, unprofessional things on Major Crimes.

Kappy, I am so with you on the Rusty storyline. I know that cops shows aren't really how cops work but this is just ridiculous...get rid of him, his time is up!!!

I DID forget it was on, was able to catch the re-showing at 11. It didn't have it's usual snappiness though, to me....or maybe it was because I was tired.
