Call the Midwife started here in NY on Sun. night...love love love this show, even if Jenny has moved on :-)

I'm really enjoying Wolf Hall, but it certainly isn't for everyone. You pretty much need some knowledge of past British royal machinations to figure out who's who and what the heck is going on. The acting is superb.

Sadiesmom, the last four most recently-aired shows of any PBS series are always available to stream over my local PBS's WEB site.

I love the Call the Midwife series. I also enjoy watching the bit, right after, where they do a quick chat with the cast or production.

I am cracking up at this most recent Midsommer Murders, we have a widow woman who is a highpriced call girl who poses as the perfect wife for her customers, a couple who own a skeet shooting club that set up little fantasies for their customers, i.e. a damsel in distress--woman with her foot trapped in a bear trap needs rescuing and along comes a "hunter", and finally a woman who owns a stable but is a disciplinarian with a whip.
Man that is a lot of role playing going on in that village.
What a funny one this has turned out to be.

Since it is summer and there is practically NOTHING to watch on TV I have started Netflix. I am watching and loving Death in Paradise. I bing watch all weekend and pray that there are more seasons after season 2....and will they ever kiss????

I enjoyed it thoroughly as well. Poldark was OK, but Crimson Field really captured my attention.

I have watched "Death In Paradise" since the beginning. I am waiting on Season 3. I heard they changed the main character Richard Poole so when they called him home I thought oh no they did before season 2 was over. Just a physic out lol. They do switch him out though. So far there are 5 seasons.

Vickie, I get attached to characters so was very upset when Poole was gone but the replacement is great as well. Its the actor who was in Love Actually.... The waiter who goes to America to find a girlfriend because he thinks his accent will be irresistible. His name is Kris Marshall. I either didn't notice how tall he was in Love Actually or he hit a late spurt. Lol
Eta: hmm, IMDB says he is only 6' tall, rest of cast must be shorter than average. 😀

oh darn, having a new member of the team will change the whole fun of Death in Paradise. I was kind of hoping Richard and Camille would get together...glad to hear there are 5 seasons. Now I think I will cry when he gets called home since I know it will mean the end for him.....boo hoo

Season 3 of Death in Paradise is on Netflix. I signed up for the DVD's trial just so I could watch this. Gonna cancel before my free trial is up

I love Netflix... We have the DVD and streaming service. I think it's worth the price. Found lots of hidden gems... like Death in Paradise.

as much as I don't want a change in character I remember this Kris Marshall from another British show called My Family. Of course he played the dysfunctional son and he was very enjoyable so I guess I will give him a chance in Death in Paradise lol.

Yup Netflix has been a great source for shows. I just finished Sense8. At first I was lost in all the people. With time I caught on and now I am missing them. Also the show had a great soundtrack.

I too like the show Midsomer Murders. I first saw it on our local pbs channel. Then found it all in order on Netflix. I wish they would open more of the seasons.
I love the thatched roof homes and the open country scenes.

Misdomer Murders is a great show. Have you seen the Wallander series with Kenneth Branagh or the Vera series? Both are also excellent detective series from the UK.
