I thought I recognized the mom! Janel Moloney was in the West Wing.

Here's what I HOPE happens...which means since I want it to go this way, it likely won't.

Diane does not get the SCOTUS appointment.

Alicia turns down the managing partner offer at Lockhart/Gardner.

Alicia, Carey, and the other lawyers who are getting ready to leave and start their own firm ask Diane to join forces with them and they start the new firm together with an equal partnership.

When Diane leaves L&G, she brings all her big clients with her to the new firm with Alicia and Carey.

Now it's all set up to have fun with a big rivalry between Will at the old firm and Alicia, Diane, and Carey at the new one. It would be a great set up creating a situation where they get to face off against each other in court while trying various cases!

It's like Survivor...the girls get fed up with the bossy guys and form their own alliance and then, when it's too late, the boys realize they are in deep doodoo.

This scenario just sounds like a lot of fun to me. :-)

Hey, maybe even Carrie Preston (Lisbeth) could join the women (and Carey) at the new firm!

Sounds like an idea to me. Why shouldn't it happen?

So who does Genevieve remind me of? I don't know her from anything listed in the IMDB.

Sanfran, I just told my husband last night that I think Diane will not become a judge and will join Carey and Alicia and bring all of clients with her. Fun, fun, fun. I hope Kalinda leaves with them too.

and what is the governor going to do with his hot ethics chief?????

I dislike Alicia as a character, she is wishy washy, changes her mind on a dime. like Carey. like Diane and I like Will

"and what is the governor going to do with his hot ethics chief????? "

So far it appears he's trying not to do her. :-)

For an ethics chief, she sure is flirty with her powerful (and married) boss, the guy she's supposed to be making sure is acting ethically.

Is she actually unethical herself or is she just testing him? Filed under: Things that make you go Hmmmmmm....

SFJS, I agree with you on all points! You should be a writer for this show. I love Diane. She's one of my favorite characters.

ROFLMAO San Fran. Love it.

Is she testing him to see if he will try to voilate the sexual harrassment employment practices, or is she trying to work her way to the top by lying on her back????

I never got Alicia sticking by her man.

I think the so-called 'ethics' lady intends to set Peter up. Either that or she wants to be First Lady. The character bugs me more then she bugs Eli.

Last week I was almost giving up on this season but this week made up for it. I like Diane and Will.

Diane's new husband better make her very happy. There's something odd there and I'm hoping he's not just setting her up or using her for something.

Dang - I realize I'm having some trust issues in watching this show, lol.

Alicia should be questioning the wisdom of opening a new law firm with a bunch of frat boys . Carrey is great but those other "boys". What the heck are they thinking ? What the heck is she thinking? She has made her bed now, Lockhart Gardner is in her past.

Carrey and Alicia need to fire some of those characters. They don't need a democracy they need a leader to get going.

Missyb I was thinking the same thing last night.

Next week is going to be good - can't wait for Will to blow up at Alicia.

I can just see the headlines, "Governor's wife escorted out of her firm by security guards"

As long as it is not true that Alicia is taking their clients, I don't think she should fear Will's wrath or Diane's wrath for that matter.
First of all I don't think Alicia really needed to leave the firm, it was mostly Carrey's wish and she should have second guessed Carrey's real motive (I think he wanted to drag Alicia down with him), you know the smart investigator didn't go for it and that was really smart.

So, if she's not taking their clients, I'd like Alicia to tell Will she's leaving... but she had too much to hide and I'm curious to see how she'll face Will. She knows it was the wrong time to leave since Diane was leaving as well and hopefully she'll tell Carrey it's a bad idea and won't leave and with her stony face will face Will by saying: "Who told you I'm leaving was wrong". Heck, there should be some awful backtracking by Alicia... it was dumb to go along Carrey's plan, I just want her to realize before she faces Will.

I thought the previews shower Alicia being escorted out of the building. I also thought she was trying to get Diane's clients. I'm probably wrong.

Alicia was being escorted out of the building, but she had intended to leave the firm anyway. I don't think she was leaving because of Carey; I think she was just trying to get away from Will.

I think Alicia and her cohorts are planning to steal their clients, and that's what getting the files was all about. However, I'm don't understand a lot of stuff that's going on.

From what I saw, she will be escorted out and they were trying to steal the clients.

oh shoot! all hell breaks loose... didn't want to see that... boy is he mad!!!!

My scenario was more in character with the role Alicia always plays, never make them see you sweat! I wanted her in command not be thrown out!

And here I was last week thinking it was all over when in reality, the fun has just begun!

Great episode tonight. I think deep down, even Will is enjoying the 'war' and I bet it's only going to heat up the love triangle between him, Alicia and the governor.

Awesome show tonight. They are setting up for an interesting season. The preview of Diane wondering if Alicia has changed or always been this way ? I had the best teachers. Alicia is not just any ole 4 year. She has been around the law and politics for a long time. She has been under estimated.

Look forward to the next few episodes .
