I tried to watch it, but my reception was terrible. I could not understand what they were saying.

The first 2 eps of Feud: Capote vs. The Swans (on FX) aired last night on FX. But there were 3 recordings on my dvr when I just went to look to start watching.

It ends up that on FXX, they aired a "director's cut" of the pilot that is 11 minutes longer.
I just wanted to give you heads up to look for it in on-demand or wherever. I have been looking forward to this for so long. I sure hope it lives up to the hype!

Premise. Acclaimed writer Truman Capote destroys his friendships with the jet setting socialites of New York City high society by writing a thinly-fictionalized account of their scandalous and hedonistic personal lives in his unfinished novel Answered Prayers.

Thanks for the reminder, somehow I missed it even though I had it written on my calendar!!

I did find it is going to air at 1am on FX, so I will try to catch it then.

I just have one more episode to catch up on Feud. Tom Hollander is doing a great job as Capote. I loved both Toby Jones and Phillip Seymour Hoffman when they played Capote and I wasn’t sure another actor could pull it off.

Demi Moore didn’t have a big part. So far so good.

Production is so lovely on screen but I feel the story is slow. His voice gets on my last nerve!

I agree. The show is largely a bore to me. But I love Diane Lane so much, so I keep watching.

The acting is worth it alone. I love the mid Atlantic dialects. Boy that Truman was a cad. I’ve never read In Cold Blood but thinking about it.

Lakecat, if you're interested the story of Truman Capote while he was writing "In Cold Blood", you have to see "Infamous (2006)". Now this is a seedy story.

It even portrays his friendship with Harper lee (author "To Kill a Mockingbird") played by Sandra Bullock.

I can only find it for rent for $3.99 several places.

Here's the trailer on Amazon. I had forgotten how good it was!

It really was good. It didn’t get as much attention because Capote came out not long before. One bit that cracked me up was when Truman was so excited because.. “Babe sent Beluga! .. when he and Harper were in Kansas. 😂

I had totally forgotten how close Infamous and Capote came out. Capote is definitely worth watching, too! I love Katherine Keener as Harper Lee.

Naja I ran across something that reminded me of you...you're a big Ethan Hawke fan, right?

Well there's a short western film called "Strange Way of Life" starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.

Ethan Hawke is my favorite actor! How did you know?

Thanks for the info. I had never heard if it. I see it's 31 minutes long so I'll probably watch it tonight.

"Ethan Hawke is my favorite actor! How did you know? "

I think you may have mentioned it a couple of years ago when I was recommending the movie "Predestination" in a thread that was discussing time travel.

Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook ("Succession") starred in Predestination and it's my favorite time travel movie. If you haven't gotten around to it yet, I still recommend that one!

Hawke also starred in "The Good Lord Bird" which was so bizarre....I didn't even recognize him for first third of that film. I've never seen Hawke in a role that was so different from the roles he usually does.

Is Predestination the one where Snook is Trans but not by choice? If so, that was a great movie.

The Good Lord Bird" was so good!

Naja, Yes and No. You've seen it so I can mention spoilers....no one who hasn't already seen it should read this:

Spoiler
Click below to view spoiler
Naja, Snook played a character that was trans....but that character was and was not trans. Remember the convoluted plot....Hawke was the main time cop (or whatever his title was) but he was also his own mother, his own father, the terrorist he was chasing....and that all means he was even the guy who introduced his mother and his father....and so he was even the baby he had with himself! It was pointed out several times that he was the guy who was "born outside of time" and that's because he jumped around in time and as he changed he had interactions with other people he had become in different times. This is one movie that is next to impossible for me to explain coherently. I had to watch it twice to understand it. Best time travel film ever!

"Thanks SFJ. I have to watch it again now."

I'd suggest one more movie...it's on the same list as "Predestination", a list I call "Shows I will definitely rewatch...again".

Not time travel, but a great story about stage magicians with a twist, starring Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johanson, and Michael Caine!...."The Prestige".

(I realize this is OT, but I hoped it was okay since we were discussing TV shows that are over now...? )
