61. larger - when we went to the Galapagos Islands a few years ago, there were PENGUINS that dive-bombed by us at great speed while we were snorkeling. At the Equator! ALL of the birds in the Galapagos were much smaller versions of birds we are used to seeing in the Northern hemisphere. They don't need to be large because life is easy and food plentiful at the equator. The cormorants were the greatest surprise. They are flightless at the equator.
