I think the raw lobster and the fact they felt he hadn't "told them anything" tipped him over the top. I have no idea who they are leaning towards.

I really can't get a feel for who the chosen one is, but the real housewife does seem to be doing/looking better

The Real Housewife seems to be the chosen one... she's been saved how many times? She's been inconsistent with her camera time (or whatever its called)... but at least she can cook!!

What the heck is a sheet pan dinner, I have never heard of it and I watch a lot of food TV and have never seen any of their shows reference it....so how can it be a hot new trend.

And I am always amazed when they say that the Food Network Star has to be ready to handle anything....when has there ever been a show by a FNS where it wasn't totally planned out.

That's how they film, there is always a plan.

Sheet pan dinners is what I have been doing for year, and what I learned from my mom. It's the same as one pan cooking but it's all done on a sheet pan.
Some kind of diced meat, some kind of chopped veggies tossed in olive oil/seasonings and roasted.
It's a big thing on Pinterest lately.

Interesting, Texannie, I am surprised I haven't seen anything about it. So do you just dice some raw chicken, put the veggies on the pan and then bake?

Are there recipes somewhere?

, I keep seeing on Facebook. Diced chicken, new potatoes and fresh green beans separated in thirds on a sheet pan then sprinkled with olive oil and a pkg of good seasonings italian dressing mix. I keep saying I'm going to try it.

Meant for years! Not year LOL

Yes, pretty much.
Another one I do is salmon filets with a little olive oil sprinkled on top, then top with mango salsa. I chop up red peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and slice corn on the cob into about 1" rounds .Toss those in a bowl and sprinkle with olive oil, salt, pepper and lime juice. I sprinkle those all around the salmon. Roast at 400 for 15 - 20 minutes.

Another one is a pork tenderloin, quartered new potatoes (tossed in olive oil) baked those at 400 for 35 minutes, then add broccoli to the pan and roast for about 6 minutes more. Take out of oven, cover with foil and let rest for 10 minutes.

That Ana woman just keeps hanging in there despite her vast shortcomings. I just think they are keeping her because of her notoriety (and apparently she cooks well).

It's been a while since RH of Miami was on the air, but I remember that Ana was known for her good cooking.

Ana is a fine cook the judges realize that but as Trump likes to say she's "low energy". She has zero screen presence and dare I say a ZzzzzzYawnnnnsnooozefest.

Iam going with Domiano as the chosen one for now, he screws up but it disappears, and when he does good, they gush, all of them gush.

I wouldn't watch Damiano's show - I can barely understand him and I don't find him nearly as attractive as others do - I think he's a little too full of himself!

Unfortunately all the other contestants do not seem unique. IMO Food Network already has somebody in that "role" - the Southern cook, the loveable teddy bear chef, the sassy woman, the almost obnoxious but endearing big guy...the only niche left might be Erin Campbell's baking show since Ace of Cakes isn't really active except in judging baking shows anymore.

Let's face it... none of these guys are going to have a show in which they cook something... IF they get a show I think it will be along the lines the Triple-D... something where they go to various locations... or end up hosting the cooking challenge show. That is what last year's winner is doing... hosting Kids BBQ Challenge with Matthew McConaughey's wife.

IF Food Network gave the winner an ACTUAL show I would enjoy watching either the Chef of Love or other southern lady... but Food Network has an abundance of southern cooks don't they?

I like Domiano. But what is his POV? The Lunch-lady guy is fun to watch... but they already have hosts similar to him. Is FN looking for a unique POV?

It feels like they are trying to force Ana into the role... at least she can cook. I wonder just how many chances will they give her. She's a lot like Dom from last year. I think they REALLY want to capitalize and promote her Housewives background...

And I personally would find her Housewives background a huge turnoff, since I purposely choose not to watch any of those shows. She would have to find a personality in order to become interesting to me. I do find her background interesting - she is at least 1/4 Cuban, 1/4 Chinese and then she is a blue-eyed blonde - that's interesting. She's not interesting but her background appears to be.
